I see a lot of people looking for a new Bible reading plan for the new year.

This works great for everyone, no matter what translation you use.

Even if you start a little later in the year, just divide the number of pages in your Bible by the number of days left in the year and you can catch up.

I have already started, so I am ahead of the game, which means that even if I skip a few days next year, I am still on pace to finish reading through my Bible again in 2026.

What If God Came As A Baby...On Purpose?

Of all the ways the Jewish people expected to welcome their Messiah, it wasn't as a baby. They were looking for a powerful leader to set them free from Roman oppression. What good would a baby do? So helpless! So vulnerable that this baby Jesus would have been killed in Bethlehem on King Herod's orders, if Joseph hadn't obeyed God's warning in a dream and fled to Egypt.

But what if God came as a baby...on purpose? (I mean, obviously, He did, but what if there's a beautiful meaning we can take from our first glimpse of the King of the Universe?) What if being a vulnerable baby wasn't a necessary step of the process of becoming a man, but what if God came as a baby so we knew we didn't have to be scared of Him?

A baby isn't intimidating. A baby doesn't hold grudges. A baby can't punish you. A baby won't manipulate you. A baby sleeping is the picture of peace, a face you can stare at for hours without fear.

So many of us know God as an angry Father, a disappointed Father, a punishing Father we ought to be afraid of. But what if He came as a baby so we wouldn't be afraid of Him?

I hope this imagery in the Christmas story is leaving you with a reminder that this Jesus we know is someone you can approach without fear. He loves you. He wants you. He is peaceful, forgiving, and kind. The kind of Father you want in your life.

If you aren't sure whether you have a relationship with God yet, pray this simple prayer with me this Christmas season:

Jesus, come into my heart. I'm sorry for my sins, please forgive me. I know You love me. Amen.

Top pic: I took the Bible on the bottom, which had white edges just like the Bible on top, and coated it with gold metallic paint. STUNNING!

Bottom pic: unfortunately I was too excited to get a "before" picture, but I thrifted this Bible that had a drab, uneven red edge and made it vibrant and beautiful again.

My God Shall Supply.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Supply” is, ‘plēroō’ (G4137) which means, “To make full, to fill up, to fill to the full, to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally.” God will cause you to abound in both spiritual and natural things. He will fill up your cup and you shall lack nothing. He is the supply. He is your Source. The Lord will supply. Do not fear. Choose to trust in a God that can send rain in a drought. He can make a way in the wilderness.

The Lord will supply. His supply is endless. His reach is effortless. His storehouse has no end. His capacity and capability is beyond human comprehension. There is nothing that God cannot handle. The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. He can redirect hearts of those in authority to flow in your favor. God does not lack favor. He does not lack in wisdom. God does not lack in power. God does not lack in authority. His reach is endless.

Your network is no comparison to God’s Reach. Your political influence cannot compare to God’s Authority. My God shall supply all of your need. Choose to trust Him. Meditate and deliberately focus on His Word. His Word has no shortage. His Word is inexhaustible. His Word is full of revelation, power and Authority. Surrender to Him and He will direct your path.

Inspired by someone else's post, I allowed my dog Stella to lead the way and do her own thing during our walk the other day.

I was struck by quite a few notable things.

1. Her pace was not always comfortable for me. At the beginning she pulled, and there were certain places where she went really slowly.

2. She stopped quite often to sniff disgusting things. 💩 And she lingered there long after I was ready to move on.

3. She was very independent when we were on a straight path, but when we came to a crossroads, she was confused about which direction to take.

4. She instinctively knew the way home. 🏡

Is this how God sees us? Do we pull when he wants us to relax, or hesitate when we should be more bold? Do we stop to check out things we shouldn't and stay there far too long?

One of the things I loved the most about my walk with Stella is that when she got confused, she looked to me for guidance. And because I had shown her the way many times, she knew how to get home.

This is EXACTLY what God does for us! 🤯

And sometimes I'm just blown away by how He shows me.
