Join us in welcoming Andrew Zumaran, PA-C, to the Swift Institute!👏

Andrew is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in joint replacement and knee and hip surgery. He is passionate about helping patients regain mobility, relieve pain, and return to the activities they love through skilled, compassionate orthopedic care.

A proud Northern Nevadan, Andrew completed both his MPAS and BS at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is certified by the NCCPA and is an active member of AAPA and NAPA.

Before becoming a PA, Andrew worked as a Medical Assistant at Swift Institute, gaining valuable experience in fracture care, casting, splinting, and sports medicine—creating a strong clinical foundation for his role today.

Andrew also serves as a Captain in the Nevada Army National Guard, where he has led operations for state and federal missions. He is now transitioning into a PA role within the Guard, blending his dedication to medicine with his commitment to service.

Outside the clinic, Andrew enjoys wakeboarding, paddleboarding, boating, hiking, snowboarding, and strength training. He also loves traveling and taking road trips with his fiancée.

We’re thrilled to have him on board! 🎉

Andrew is now accepting patients in both our Reno and Carson City locations!

✨ Swift Institute at the Nevada Orthopedic Society Fall Meeting 2025! ✨

We had an incredible evening connecting with vendors, hearing insights from keynote speaker Dr. Erik Kibiak, and learning from Jacqueline Nguyen about upcoming legislation and its impact on the medical industry.

It was also wonderful to see our providers interacting with other providers in the community and with vendors they work closely with—building relationships that strengthen patient care. Spending time together outside the clinic made the evening even more special!

We’re proud to stay engaged in the orthopedic community and continue advancing care for our patients.

Our quarterly Provider In-Service Meeting is always a highlight — a time for connection, collaboration, and continued learning.

We kicked off this quarter’s meeting by welcoming several new providers who recently joined the Swift Institute family.

A big thank you to our presenters:
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Birdsong – for sharing insights on S.L.A.C. Wrist, including its stages, symptoms, and treatment options.
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Lilyquist – for his informative talk on Dupuytren’s Contracture and available treatment approaches.
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Guy Jones from Urology Nevada – for joining us as a guest speaker and sharing his expertise on Short Benign.

We’re grateful to all of our providers for their dedication to continuous learning and excellence in patient care. Partnerships like these — working together with other experts in our community — are key to achieving the best outcomes for our patients across Northern Nevada. 💙

Here’s what Joanna, our Call Center Manager, had to share about Paola:

“Paola is a dedicated mom and a true multitasker! She’s transitioning from Vein Receptionist to also serving as our New Patient Scheduler for the vein department.

Paola joined our team in 2025 and has already proven to be a wonderful addition. She’s well on her way to making a big impact through her training, teamwork, and continued excellence at our vein location.”

Last week, we celebrated Rad Tech Week! 🎉

We had the best time visiting each of our locations to personally thank our amazing Radiologic Technologists—and to drop off some bagels to help start their morning right! 🥯

Your skill, precision, and compassion make all the difference—ensuring our patients receive the best possible care during imaging appointments and procedures. You play a vital role in helping to keep our clinics running smoothly and helping our providers get the answers they need to their patients as quickly as possible to either begin treatment, continue with their course of treatment, or confirm it’s moving in the right direction.

It takes a team effort, and we are proud and thankful to have each and every one of you as part of the Swift team! 💙

When Shima isn’t in the clinic, you can find her spending time with her fun and energetic dog, Yogi, or enjoying shopping trips and pottery classes with friends.

Her fun, energetic, and encouraging spirit helps create an environment where patients feel motivated to push toward their recovery goals. 🙌
