The little barn on the left hand side of the picture is where my grandfather Oliver Edwin Walker committed su***de in on 31 December 1908. This is roughly 4 miles southwest of Estherville in Emmet County, Iowa. Picture is courtesy of Google Maps Street View. I have been there but the owners wanted no part of me taking pictures or talking to me about this so thanks to Google Maps I have a picture.

Sad to say one of my ancestral haunts, Passadumkeag, Maine has no one working in the town hall due to staff shortages. My 3x great grandmother Josephine Pishon Rollins was born there in 1828 but is buried at Windfall Cemetery in Granton, Clark County, Wisconsin. Town clerks in Maine are the holders of vital records.

The town of Passadumkeag no longer has a town clerk, code enforcement officer, assessor or animal control officer.

Just north of Masardis, Maine on an August day in 1844, my 4x great grandfather Isaiah Pishon was trampled to death by his team of horses according to family lore. My 4x great grandmother Abigail Hatch Knowlen married a Benjamin Franklin Wood. The Woods eventually migrated to Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin. The picture of Masardis, Maine is courtesy of Ebay. As crazy as it seems, Jeffrey Dahmer stalked me in a strange way. In 1968 he moved to Bath, Summit County, Ohio where my ancestors Dexter and Harriet (Parks) Johnson migrated from near Detroit a little over 130 years prior and then in 1981 Dahmer moved to West Allis, Wisconsin, the residence of my Aunt and Uncle (Carol nee Currie) and Joseph Bandur. Pictures are of Jeffrey Dahmer and my great great grandmother Harriet Parks Johnson.

Area of expertise in all is obituary and vital records searches.

Dan Walker has personally conducted genealogical research at 22 county courthouses in Wisconsin and has conducted research many times at the Wisconsin Historical Society. His earliest ancestor interred in Wisconsin is a Jonathan Parks buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Tibbetts, Walworth County, Wisconsin. Considerable experience with church, land, probate and vital records.
