Mission 6Two Education, Employment, and Economic Empowerment Project

Objectives: * To increase employment of going high school graduates within one year of graduation. (Focus on healthcare, green jobs, and new technologies) * To increase the college-going rate among high school graduates. * To foster and strengthen positive peer relationships among adolescent students. * To increase academic achievement by helping students develop effective strategies for engaging in learning at school and at home. * To contribute to the transformation of the local community by providing economic opportunities, social and economic support. * To facilitate a rich variety of technologies, cultural information, and experiences for adolescent students through relationships with family, transformative mentors, and transformative role models. : supply the community of practice with funds of knowledge that will facilitate a proactive habitus that develops strategies and schemes for personal and academic success. : as the information is mastered it becomes part of the values and behaviors (cultural capital) of the community of practice. * To create a network of families that provides support to one another in the process of community transformation. * To develop/create a network of community resources that provides support to families and other community institutions in the process of community transformation.
