Unlike conventional band-aid solutions that solely focus on suppressing symptoms, I take a root-cause approach to reveal what's standing in the way of your goals so you can stop guessing and work with your body instead of against it.

PMDD bodies are cyclical, sensitive, and highly responsive to change.

Most supplement plans are not built with that in mind.

So when supplements fall flat, it’s not because you failed.
It’s because the system around them was incomplete.

Supplements aren’t meant to act as magic fixes.

They’re one lever in a much bigger picture — and they require strategy that keeps you at the center.

It’s not you. It’s the plan.
And plans can be rebuilt.

One of the reasons supplements feel hit-or-miss with PMDD isn’t always the supplement itself.

🗓️ It’s timing.

You’re a cyclical being.
Hormones and brain chemistry shift across the month — which means your needs shift too.

When supplements are taken without considering where you are in your cycle, the feedback gets muddy fast.

Here’s a pattern I see all the time 👇

➝ something gets added in the luteal phase
➝ symptoms spike (as they often do)
➝ the supplement gets blamed and abandoned

That doesn’t tell us whether it works.

It tells us it was mistimed or not what your body needed.

Everybody’s body responds differently — what helps one person can be neutral or even aggravating for another. And those responses can change depending on the phase of your cycle.

Your cycle changes.
Why wouldn’t your supplement timing?

PMDD doesn’t respond well to checklist advice.

There’s no one-size-fits-all plan for PMDD.

Supplements work best when they’re matched to your cycle and symptoms.

MORE supplements are not the answer.

Adding more and more 💊💊💊 but still unsure what’s actually helping?

This happens to so many people with PMDD—not because they’re doing it wrong, but because symptoms are intense and relief feels urgent.

So things get added. And added. And added.

At a certain point, the body stops giving clear feedback.
You can’t tell what’s helping, what’s neutral, or what’s quietly making things worse.

That’s not a motivation problem.That’s signal overload.

This is what I call The Supplement Trap—when everything gets added at once so you can’t figure out what’s actually working (or not).

Everybody’s body responds differently—so what helps one person can be neutral or even unhelpful for another.

What helps isn’t more supplements or a magic pill—it’s a clear, custom, specific-to-you strategy so you know:🛑what to pause or stop📋what to prioritize🩸and when to take things across your cycle

I don’t share this story to scare anyone away from supplements.

I share it because it explains why I approach them the way I do now.

For a long time, I thought I was the problem.
So I tried harder.
📋 I followed the plan.
🧑‍⚕️ Took everything as prescribed.
🫡 Did what I was told.

When things got worse instead of better, I assumed my body was just “too much” or “too complicated.”

What I eventually learned is that effort wasn’t the issue.

The plan was too generic.
It simply didn’t account for how PMDD bodies actually work.

Nobody taught me how to make sense of it all.
No timing.
No PMDD perspective.
No connecting the dots.

Just a protocol—
that forgot I’m a person. 😓

If you’ve ever blamed yourself when a protocol didn’t work, you’re not alone.

Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing more about why supplements often fall flat with PMDD — and what actually makes the difference.

📊1 in 3 people with PMDD attempt su***de.
72% report thoughts of su***de.

If it feels ok for you at this moment, sit with those statistics.  What’s your gut reaction to it?

We often avoid talking about it because they feel too scary or taboo.

The result? We suffer in silence.

The first time I read those stats, I had a confusing reaction.  Initially, I felt RELIEF knowing I wasn’t alone. Then, I felt SCARED.... it intensified the gravity of what I was experiencing.

PMDD is real.

The thoughts themselves can feel scary.
Then the thoughts we have about the fact we are having these thoughts can intensify them further. (That will make sense if you’ve experienced this, too).

The first step is breaking the silence. Don’t suffer alone.

It’s a week into

does amazing work spreading the message that the unexplainable symptoms we’ve been experiencing has a name.

That it’s valid.
That it’s real.
That it’s biology.
That it’s not our fault.

It creates solidarity and community. It creates awareness amongst health professionals. It spreads light and creates “lightbulb moments.”

However, there are a few downsides that we need navigate .. bc your light is too important to be snuffed out by overwhelm this month.

1️⃣ INFORMATION OVERLOAD
With more people posting about , it can be too much to take it all in. And there will be a lot of people sharing their stories, some hopeful… some not. Remember that you are the only one living out your story — relief is possible.

Do this instead:
👉Set 1 intention for what to RECEIVE this month:
Hopeful messages?
Validation?
Action steps towards relief?

Focus on that one thing.

2️⃣ INCREASED SOCIAL MEDIA USE
While you may enjoy social media at some parts of your cycle, other cycle phases it may feel triggering, exhausting, or overwhelming.

Do this instead:
👉Set boundaries that align with your capacity so it doesn’t deep fry your nervous system.

For me that looks like only going on social media 1-2 times per day for less than 15 minutes total. In fact, I intentionally “fast” from social media during parts of my luteal phase and bleed.

3️⃣ PRESSURE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
If you experience , you likely want to give back to make a difference in this community. So naturally, we can feel a sense of pressure to do as much as we can:

Post …reach out to health organizations… give and collect donations… etc.

We can burn ourselves out!

Do this instead:
👉Set 1 intention for what you want to GIVE to make a difference in your corner of the world.
Donate or collect donations?
Share your story?
Tell ___ # of people about PMD?

Focus on that one thing. Trust that the rest will be taken care of by someone else doing their “one thing.”

POV: You and your partner are in love but the constant 🎢 of and and other have made things more "ahhh" than "awwww" ... so you gotta send an extra special Valentine.

WE GET IT! One of the most common reason menstruators seek help is because of the toll it's taking on their relationships, both romantic and platonic. is not a battle we fight alone. It impacts everyone around us.

So, in addition to the cheesy Valentine's cards and roses ... let them know you SEE and appreciate their efforts. Words of affirmation are a PMDD Partners best friend.

Do you ever feel too sensitive for the world?
🙋‍♀Yep, me too. Let’s talk about it.

I have a history of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and work with people with PMDD every day, all day. I observe time and time again that folks with PMDD are often highly sensitive and highly empathetic. Sometimes they’re also very intuitive and creative.

Sound familar? We thought so! You are NOT alone.
