First day in our new space in Richland, WA!

I wake and ask myself what do I need to be well today? How do I honor all three parts of myself- mind, body, and spirit?

My body is wrecked after the push to move. I’m covered in bruises, my eyes are swollen, all my joints and tendons hurt, and the brain fog is REAL πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I hate knowing so many of you are on a similar boat, and that doctors aren’t helping you. But we can’t give up. We can help ourselves! We can encourage each other!

🌱 What can you do today to honor just one of the spheres of mind, body, or spirit? Comment below so we can encourage and learn form eachother. 🌱

Today, for my body I opted for some gentle yoga and stretching. I also had some green tea and granola.
For my spirit I opened my Bible and connected to my higher power, Jesus. I just opened the Bible App and the scripture was perfect πŸ’— I spent time in prayer as I moved through my yoga practice.
For my mind, I got out in the grass and connected with the new earth that brings me such joy. I practiced mindfulness as I pressed my feet into the grass and mediated on the feel of each plush, cold, bade under my toes.

To finish off this morning act of self-care, I practiced final relaxation. I lay in the grass with my sweet dogs and gazed up at the beautiful sky as I continued to mediate on the scripture
Colossians 3:1 " If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Then I gave space to receive what my good God has for me today.

In all I spent maybe 20min, but what a difference I have going out to tackle the million tasks of the day! Please share how you honor your mind, body, or spirit every day!

For optimal health and growth, our mind, body, and spirit, must be brought into balance. Achieving mental wellness, includes attending to our physical body.

Today with the weather change I woke with increased pain and inflammation. In order to combat this I made a healthy bone broth which includes anti inflammatory herbs. I often put these same herbs in my morning oats. When I do this I omit salt, add honey, and still use a pinch of pepper as pepper is necessary to help us access the benefits of curcumin.

If you haven’t read up on it, curcumin is a powerful natural anti inflammatory. I’ve been using it for years to help combat whole body joint and tendon pain. Ginger is also an anti οΏΌ inflammatory herb. It is additionally helpful to ease stomach discomfort. Don’t even get me started on saffron! According to Medical News Today, studies are showing promise on saffron’s ability to help balance mood, fight oxidative stress, prevent nervous system disorders, and promote weight loss. There are also studies underway for its use in the treatment of ADHD. Saffron is expensive. The best bang for your buck I have found is at Trader Joe’s. I also like to add MCT oil for some added energy from a healthy fat.

I’m not a doctor, so speak with yours before embarking on adding too many herbs into your diet, if you have health concerns.

Its not a cure, but I can tell when I stop eating well for my body. Time to pack back in some natural healing.

Self acceptance is the hardest thing for so many of us. Umtimately, the goal is to learn to just be. Just be….. So simple, yet so hard to achieve.

Overthinking can be extremely draining to our energy. Even more draining than the thing we are overthinking! Sometimes we just have to set it down, and learn to just be.

Try this simple exercise to learn to just be. Take a slow inhalation to a count of 4 (heart-beats, seconds whatever works for you), hold for 4, then exhale to a count of 7, then hold for 4 again.

Repeat this pattern of 4,4,7,4. Inhale for 4, hold for 4, out for 7, hold for 4. Try to do this for just 2-5 min a day. The slow exhalation will calm your sympathetic nervous system, and help you to feel safe and calm.

Be sure to breath deep into your belly, and not shallow in your chest. It may not work right away, but with practice focusing on our breath can be a beautiful way to just be.

Outside in the sunshine, trees, dirt, and of course leaves, will enhance this experience. Be well. Be blessed. Just be πŸ’•
