Excited to see nutrition continue to be explored as having a role in PKD kidney health & progression. It was an honor to be included in this conversation!

Let's keep this convo going!
Check out all the ways nutrition can support you in your battle against PKD.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive kidney cyst formation and eventual kidney failure. Emerging evidence suggests that plant-based diets may confer therapeutic benefits in patients with PKD by modulating mTOR and AMPK signaling, reducing oxidative stres...

🧬 Ever heard of Farabursen (aka RGLS4326)?

It's an experimental PKD medication that is showing serious promise in clinical trials — a medication that targets microRNA.

Folks, we’re talking gene-level breakthroughs that could significantly change PKD's impact. This is some pretty bad-a$$ science.

PS. Let me know what you think of the graphics! That's me trying to simplify the science. 🩵

Learn how Farabursen (RGLS4326), an experimental ADPKD medication, targets microRNA to slow cyst and kidney growth and support healthier kidney function with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Plus, explore if you meet the criteria to be part of Farabursen's upcoming clinical trial.

Ever gotten labs back and thought "this doesn't make sense"...🤨
Especially when it comes to your eGFR, your kidney function?

A lower-than-expected results can cause immediate panic.
But, before you jump on that downward spiral, do this:

STEP 1: Take a step back and ask, "Did something other than my kidneys affect these results?

STEP 2: Not sure what that could be? Check out my blog on Creatinine vs. Cystatin C.

It will get you up to date on the two labs, what they measure, and even help you decide which one is better for you.

Pumpkin has serious ! 🧡

From silky soups to crunchy roasted seeds, this fall favorite isn’t just tasty—it’s packed with benefits for PKD.

✨ Natural source of Vitamin C & A = immune support, the delicious way.
✨ Seeds? Roast ‘em for a crunchy, kidney-friendly snack.

Cooking with pumpkins this year? Don’t forget those seeds—they’re little nutritional powerhouses!

PS. canned pureed pumpkin is delish and nutrish too!

Who you gonna call? 👻

Ghost? Ghostbusters.
Bats? Exterminators.
Blood draw? Nephrologist.
Nutrition advice for PKD? 🤔

If you’ve been asking your trainer, scrolling Google, lurking on Facebook groups, following biohackers & influencers, or even asking ChatGPT… I get it. There’s a LOT of “advice” out there. Just saying.

But when it comes to nutrition that actually supports your PKD, protects your kidneys, and gives you real long-term results? There’s only one person you should call: THE PKD DIETITIAN.

Do you 🖤 Halloween? 🎃

I do, you should see my costume closet! 😂

What I don't love is how dietary choices can impact your bones with PKD.

Some dietary patterns lead to calcium being pulled from your bones (no thanks!).

Often, that calcium gets dumped in the urine (hello kidney stones).

The Culprits:
1️⃣ High-sodium diet
2️⃣ Sugar overload
3️⃣ Heavy meat intake

Making dietary changes isn't just about PKD kidney health (although that's a driving force); it's also about supporting you as a whole person.

Wondering how to protect your bones and kidneys starting today? 💪
I'm here to guide you – let's start this journey today! 🌟 🦴

Calcium in your bones 🦴 = good ✅

Did you know certain factors can steal calcium from your bones and dump it in your urine?

Dietary patterns that pull calcium from your bones ↙️
👉 High salt intake 🧂
👉 Lots of added sugar 🍭
👉 Heavy animal meat intake 🥩

Lowering all three isn't just good for your kidneys; it's a bone-boosting move! 😄

Which of the 3 surprises you the most?

Kinda perfect it lands during Halloween Month is you as me...🧛🏻‍♀️

Garlic is one of my favorite aromatics to cook with (even if my husband might disagree 😅). It adds a ton of flavor — and plenty of .

👉 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝘁𝗶𝗽: Chop, crush, or mince your garlic and let it sit for 10 minutes before cooking. This activates allicin — the compound behind garlic’s biggest benefits.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗞𝗗:

- May help lower blood pressure

- Supports immune + anti-inflammatory health

- Rich in antioxidants

- Can help lower LDL cholesterol

How do you like to use garlic?👇

PS. Many of the studies looking at garlic’s perks used extract, which doesn’t take away from how delish it is :-)
