Ever notice how sometimes your space either works with you or against you?

When something’s hard to reach, we tend to forget about it, avoid using it, or worse—create a mess trying to get to it and then feel too lazy to put it back. (Hi, I’ve been there.🙋‍♀️🫣)

But the problem might not be you — it may be the system.

Give your most-used items the prime real estate they deserve - ok, that you deserve! Because when your essentials are easy to access, your space is easier to keep tidy with less effort.

Weary? Burdened? ✔️✔️
Rest for my soul — I want it! Don’t you?
Breathe in those words.
What could it mean?

Quiet
Calm
Peace

Even if life is chaotic and busy and upside down?

Jesus says YES- telling me to let go and set ME, MYSELF, and I aside…
And look to HIM - who is gracious, promising rest. He knows what’s on my mind and heart. He knows what’s coming next. I don’t have to worry or be obsessed with living up to expectations. My brain can stop running in circles!

It’s not about being religious or performing perfectly or doing all the right things. It’s about listening and surrendering and obeying Him —
The One who is humble, gentle, and loves each of us immensely.

And then everything becomes clearer.
What’s less important loses its grip.
What matters most comes into focus.

Thankful for this invitation today. 🫶

Thanksgiving may be in the rearview mirror, but gratitude is always in season, right? 🙃 So here’s my overdue THANK YOU!

I’m extra thankful for my family and my amazing business partner Virginia Ann. They are the ones who motivate and inspire me/us to do what we love. Without their love and support, none of this would be possible! And of course, we are so grateful for our wonderful clients who trust us to help bring beauty and order to their homes and encourage us to continue to do what we do. 💛

As we step into the Christmas season (hello, holiday magic 🎄✨) and the end of 2024, I’m reflecting on how this year has been full of growth, challenges, as well as God’s goodness.

Why do I prefer organized drawers?

- it’s a relief to know I can find things quickly
- it’s simpler to put things away
- it’s easy to tell people where to find an item
- it’s less visually overwhelming
- drawers actually close!

But when my places and spaces aren’t organized or get out of order because I don’t maintain them, I tend to feel more stressed! Even when I don’t see it! Even if it’s tucked away in a drawer or cabinet or up in the attic, I know there’s a pile of uncertain things lurking about and it bothers me a little. I’m not talking about just tossing all your socks in one drawer versus folding them. I’m talking about the drawers that hold miscellaneous stacks that probably started on a countertop. What about you? How do you feel about piles? What about hidden messes?

Today’s task is dealing with some of those piles that got shoved in drawers during the last few weeks (son’s graduation season)!

When multiples of the same item are neatly folded or lined up tidily, even mundane things can feel attractive. (Just look for inspiration!) At the very least it brings a sense of peace when you open your cabinets or drawers. I’ve realized over the years that when I set up a tidy organized system AND maintain it (this is CRITICAL), it is a gift to ME. ALSO IMPORTANT - make sure it’s simple to keep up! Otherwise you’ll end up with a mess again because most people are in a hurry and just put stuff back wherever it’s easiest for them.
