As we near the end of American Heart Month 2026, we're taking the opportunity to raise awareness of the fact that although heart disease remains a leading cause of death in pregnancy and postpartum, knowing the warning signs can save lives.

Interested in being part of the change? VNPC is launching a new Quality Improvement (QI) project to improve care and outcomes for perinatal cardiac conditions by helping hospitals across Virginia to implement the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Cardiac Conditions in Obstetric Care Bundle. Expert faculty are currently being finalized to help lead this work.
