Celebrating the end of the school year and rewarding my Advanced Animal Science class for creating some cute cuts of meat posters for my classroom by having taco Tuesday on a Wednesday! 🌮

Let’s talk about water for a sec…

Now all my teacher folk out there know the age old dilemma of “to hydrate or not to hydrate” because that 4th period class can’t be left alone for the two minutes it would take to run to the restroom 🤦🏻‍♀️

BUT we have to do a better job of figuring out how to keep drinking water throughout the day because hydration is crucial for a healthy body and mind! 💧

Here are some tips to help you stay hydrated throughout the day (and some extra tips for my fellow educators):

1️⃣ Drink water as soon as you wake up in the morning. (…so you can p*e before the kiddos get to your classroom!)
2️⃣ Carry a clear, reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. (Keep it on your desk so you’re reminded to drink.)
3️⃣ Add some flavor to your water by infusing it with fruits or herbs. (There’s all kinds of packaged water additives that you can keep in your desk.)
4️⃣ Eat foods with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumber, and celery. (The kids won’t ask you for healthy foods…they prefer Takis and Doritos.)
5️⃣ Avoid sugary drinks and alcohol, as they can dehydrate you. (Teachers…keep your alcohol low sugar 💁🏻‍♀️)

Remember, staying hydrated is not just about drinking water, it's also about making healthy choices (and keeping our jobs 🤣)

On the charter bus to Six Flags this morning with the senior class and grabbed some PB cups for breakfast 💁🏻‍♀️ Not my everyday breakfast for sure but better than the donuts everyone else was eating!

Looking for some easy keto breakfast ideas? Look no further! Here are a few of our favorites:

1. Avocado and Egg Breakfast Sandwich: Swap the bread for avocado halves and top with a fried egg and your favorite toppings.

2. Keto Pancakes: Mix almond flour, eggs, and a few other ingredients to create a fluffy and delicious pancake that's low-carb and keto-friendly.

3. Greek Yogurt Parfait: Layer Greek yogurt with berries, nuts, and a drizzle of honey for a protein-packed and satisfying breakfast.

Congratulations to all the soon-to-be graduates out there! 🎓👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

As we approach the end of the school year, many of us will be attending graduations, banquets and end-of-year parties. While it's important to celebrate these milestones, it's also important to stay on track with our health and fitness goals. Here are some tips to help you enjoy the festivities while still being mindful of your health:

1. Eat a protein packed meal before the party to avoid overindulging on unhealthy snacks.
2. Choose healthier options proteins, macadamia nuts, and cheeses when they are available.
3. Stay hydrated by drinking water and limiting sugary beverages.
4. Try to get some exercise in before or after the party to keep up with your fitness routine.

Remember, it's all about balance! Enjoy the celebrations while still taking care of your body. 🥳🍎💪

Do you find it difficult to keep up with your health goals while enjoying summer foods and parties?

From relaxing beach days to family road trips (and week long baseball tournaments)…it may feel overwhelming to keep up with your health goals while living your best summer vacay life.

GOOD NEWS!!! Staying committed to your health goals in any season can be done easily!

Throughout the rest of summer, I’ll be sharing my fav tips that my clients and I personally use to look and feel our best all summer long - and beyond!

But first, let’s reframe this concern: why is summer different from any other time of year? Sure you may have more time off of work (shout out to my fellow educators!!!), more parties and vacations too, but when it comes to your health goals, what exactly changes?

If you think of summer as an opportunity to try new things- new types of movement, outdoor fitness, seasonal foods, fun ways to stay hydrated- then it can be a season to experiment with ways to “healthify” your life!

Remember, you don’t have to be all-in or all-out of anything…you can be healthy, fun, fit and active whether you’re swimming laps in a lake or relaxing on a cruise ship.

The only label you need to adhere to, is being YOU!
