For more than 30 years, crisis intervention team (CIT) programs have brought together police, mental health advocates, and mental health professionals to change community responses to crisis situations.

Auvergne Williams, our NAMI In Our Own Voice Champion, consistently unites the Mississippi CIT Association to reshape the conversation surrounding mental health. It’s our moment to share stories, advocate for change, and ensure quality mental health care reaches individuals in crisis.

Mental health affects everyone. While one in five U.S. adults experiences a mental health condition annually, the impact extends to the friends, family, coworkers, and others who support them.

Mental health is something we all experience, manage, and need support with. No one should have to face these challenges alone. We’re stronger when we lift each other up. 💙

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is associated with use of antipsychotic medication that may be necessary to treat individuals living with mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.

We are proud to work alongside Neurocrine Biosciences to help decrease stigma, improve recognition and increase routine screenings, diagnosis and awareness of appropriate treatment of TD.

MIND-TD provides helpful information for healthcare providers on identification of tardive dyskinesia and differentiation from other drug-induced movement disorders. Use the interactive digital tool called DISCOVER TD®, which can be accessed at MIND-TD.com/discover-TD to learn about and identify TD.

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is a global event held Aug. 31 each year to remember those gone too soon from overdoses and commit to our goal of preventing these deaths, from the workplace to anyplace.

According to provisional data from the CDC, of the roughly 80,000 reported drug overdose deaths in 2024, nearly three-quarters were attributed to opioids.

We were proud to be a part of the proclamation signing with Governor Tate Reeves and Mississippi Department of Mental Health. You can help protect your loved ones, co-workers and neighbors by learning more about the risks of an opioid overdose and what you can do to save lives.
