5. Invest In A Pair Of Super Supportive Shoes: During my first gym visit, I wore unsuitable shoes and was advised to change them. Eventually, I invested in better sneakers and noticed a significant difference. Find comfortable, supportive shoes by trying multiple pairs and asking store staff for help. It's worth the investment.
6. Bring Your Own Towel: Gyms may or may not provide towels. Bringing your own hand towel helps avoid feeling gross from sweat. Remember, sweating heavily indicates your hard work, so embrace it and keep pushing yourself.
7. Prepare A Perfectly Curated Playlist: A great playlist works wonders. The right song can transform your mood, turning treadmill self-consciousness into confidence and making everything else in the gym fade away.
8. Indulge In A Little Spritz Between Sets: Do I smell after I work out? Yes, you guys, I absolutely do. And you probably don't need me to tell you that that's completely normal. Still, just because it's normal doesn't mean we're all immune to the self-consciousness that comes with some sweaty B.O. If you can't, or simply don't like to shower at the gym, having a nice body spritz on-hand to cool down is always a pleasant and lovely way to freshen up.
9. Bring A Buddy With You: Having a gym buddy enhances the experience, whether you follow the same routine or do separate workouts. Shared workouts become more enjoyable when you can laugh together during tough moments.
