Imbolc marks a quiet turning point in the year. At the beginning of February, the light begins to return, as a gentle stirring beneath the cold, a remembering happening deep within the Earth.

This is the holy day of Brigid, keeper of the eternal flame, guardian of the hearth, the womb, the deep well.

In Celtic lore, there is a belief that if the day is bright and sunny, Brigid is gathering firewood, signaling that winter will linger a while longer. If the day is dark and stormy, she rests, and spring is closer at hand.

Imbolc is a time of purification and initiation. A time to clear what winter has stripped bare and to listen for what is asking to be born. Nothing is fully visible yet, but everything is stirring.

It reminds us that creation begins in the unseen, and that tending the inner flame is the greatest purpose.

Honor your stirring. Tend your flame.
