So often you hear " I wish my horse could talk to me" when in fact they do, we just need to learn how to listen.

Vegas has recently started:
• Racing through our workouts
• Holding his head high and hollowing out his back
• Dropping his hind right while working
• Feels like two different horses when you change directions

Should I put a harsher bit in his mouth to make him slow down or put draw reins on to force him into a false collection? Nope!

He's telling me he's in pain and he physically can't do the things I'm asking because he's avoiding the pain.

Luckily I know the source is due to his navicular. That means I'll spend more of our ride times doing body work to keep him comfortable and see how he progresses. There is a lot more involved with navicular, but that's beyond this post.

Once we start listening to our horses we can help get to the root of the problem and work them back up so they can be the best they can be.
