We’re thrilled to announce that the 4th Annual North Carolina State Massage Championship (NCSMC) is officially happening April 20th–23rd, 2026 at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in beautiful downtown Lincolnton, NC! 🏆💆‍♀️💆‍♂️

Massage therapists from across the state will come together to showcase their skills, connect with fellow professionals, and celebrate the art and excellence of massage therapy all while learning and growing as a therapist. We’re beyond excited to introduce the new Directors of the North Carolina State Massage Championship — Ash Wirth , Paula Micol , and H Michael Wirth ! 💙

Many of you already know business partners Ash and Paula, both passionate therapists who have proudly competed in past NCSMC events. Their love for massage, their dedication to growth, and their firsthand experience as competitors bring so much heart and insight to the championship. 💆‍♀️💪

Welcome back Terri to the 2026 Michigan Massage Championship as a judge!
Terri Barton is a Licensed Massage Therapist in Georgia with a degree in Neuromuscular Therapy, graduation with honors in 2005. With over 20 years as a business owner and massage experience, she has dedicated her career to advancing the massage therapy profession through both clinical excellence and volunteer leadership.
Terri has trained under internationally recognized therapist Luisa Vargas and Krista Harris in preparation for the various Massage Championships. She has served as a respected judge at several major competitions, including the Inaugural Georgia/Florida Massage Championship in 2023, again in 2024 for Georgia, 2024-2025 AMC as judge in Western Freestyle and sports, 2025 Judge for the Michigan Championships.
A proud 20-year member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), Terri has been a primary volunteer for 16 years. She currently serves as the Government Relations Chair for the AMTA Georgia Chapter, where she advocates for the legislative and regulatory initiatives that support massage therapist across the state.
Her service has earned her national and state-level recognition, including the AMTA National Humanitarian Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the AMTA Georgia Chapter. She is also a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), further reflecting on her commitment to high standards in the field.
Terri has also served on the Northwest Georgia Parkinsons Board of Directors, as well as a primary presenter at the Parkinsons National conventions as to the benefits of massage with Parkinson clients. Terri continues to serve her community as the current Board of Director for Rome, Ga PFLAG.

Welcome back Susan Smith to the 2026 Michigan Massage Championship as a judge!
Susan Smith is a professional massage therapist licensed by the State of Ohio. She obtained her massage therapy license from the Ohio State Medical Board in 2009 after completing extensive and comprehensive training in anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques at the Northwest Academy of Massotherapy. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.

In 2024 she took on the role of co-director of The Ohio Massage Championship.
To further her experience and education in the judging realm, she shadowed judged at the 2024 AMC in the clinical and sports massage categories.
2025 provided her with the opportunity to be a judge at the state level for OH/MI/IN.
Susan had the honor of being the Lead judge for the Wellness category at the 2025 American Massage Championship in Las Vegas.

She is dedicated to promoting health and wellness through therapeutic touch. Owning and operating her own office for 17 years, she has developed a deep understanding of the human body and various massage techniques to address individual needs effectively.

Jacque Agar has over 20 years in massage therapy and 30 years in energy healing. An educator and 2nd degree black sash in Tai Chi, she took silver at the 2024 Michigan Massage Championship and now returns in 2026 as a judge—ready to help spotlight Michigan’s next massage champions.

Michigan Massage Championship May 1-3 VFW Post 423 in Ann Arbor is going to be bigger than ever! A weekend long wellness immersion focused on natural solutions & alternative care featuring vendors, gues speakers, continuing education, sound baths, yoga , bonfires and more! Plus the championship will be spread out over 2 days with the participants displaying their skills on veterans and their caregivers. Lets give back to those wgo sacrificed so much & have fun in the process.
