A favorite picture of Boone and I.
In our first meeting together, Boone showed me what it meant to trust in ways that were completely new to me.
I was just practicing for a video assignment in my first level of equine-assisted psychotherapy training (shoutout The Natural Lifemanship Institute), and I really didn't expect much. This was the first time we had really ever worked together. But Boone knew what I needed to learn, and so he stood stock still and let me lay on his back. No fidgeting, no tense muscles. In completely trusting me, he brought me to a place where I had to completely trust him. And trust it was - I had no halter and no grip on a horse who is almost taller at the withers than I am all together (and I'm tall!).
This is just one of the things I love about equine-assisted psychotherapy: healing experiences in relationship. And I love getting to share these healing moments, like I had with Boone, with my clients.
If you are interested in starting your healing journey and think equine-assisted psychotherapy could help, I would love to talk more with you!
