We are doing our best to try and take care of everything ourselves. But if we are being honest we could use a little help. Thanks to whoever feels lead to give or help us figure out things.

We are still trying to sell Dixie’s old gait trainer. It is a size small and we are asking $1,500. It originally cost around $4,500. Nothing is wrong with it. She has just out grown it.

Dixie has been still working hard during Christmas break. She has been standing almost everyday.
Today she did 3 hours in her standing frame. Then she got her new gait trainer and took some steps in it. To finish off the day she army crawled all the way to her bedroom and did some more crawling after that.
Please continue to pray that she is motivated to keep working hard at home, as going to outside therapies hasn’t been possible yet.

Even on Christmas Eve we do our best to at least get some standing time in.

She was very proud of herself today. She work on sitting to standing and then getting up to a crawling position. She also did an hour of standing time in her stander almost everyday. Working hard to continue to get stronger.

We learned once again today that medical trauma is a real thing. Dixie had another procedure today and it went well. But her and I were both stressed. I am so thankful understanding and amazing doctors and nurses!

Seeing a post that Dixie’s old physical therapy place has an opening for a physical therapy intensive makes me kind of sad.
No red tape, affordable price, and only 10 away from our old house. Indiana and the US need to do better when it comes to getting kids the therapies they need.

I had a friend the other day ask me what the cost of disability equipment cost now a days, so here are the price ranges for equipment Dixie currently uses.
Wheelchair $5000+
Gait trainer $2000+
Stander $2000+
Adaptive trike $2700
Yes sometimes insurance helps cover the cost of these items, but to assume they will is crazy. Right now we are working on getting her a new stander, gait trainer, and trike. Not to mention there are is all the different items we could get her for OT.

We are thanking the Lord that we found a trike for Dixie that should work for years to come. Now to figure out how to get the cost of the trike covered.
