She was very proud of herself today. She work on sitting to standing and then getting up to a crawling position. She also did an hour of standing time in her stander almost everyday. Working hard to continue to get stronger.

We learned once again today that medical trauma is a real thing. Dixie had another procedure today and it went well. But her and I were both stressed. I am so thankful understanding and amazing doctors and nurses!

Seeing a post that Dixie’s old physical therapy place has an opening for a physical therapy intensive makes me kind of sad.
No red tape, affordable price, and only 10 away from our old house. Indiana and the US need to do better when it comes to getting kids the therapies they need.

I had a friend the other day ask me what the cost of disability equipment cost now a days, so here are the price ranges for equipment Dixie currently uses.
Wheelchair $5000+
Gait trainer $2000+
Stander $2000+
Adaptive trike $2700
Yes sometimes insurance helps cover the cost of these items, but to assume they will is crazy. Right now we are working on getting her a new stander, gait trainer, and trike. Not to mention there are is all the different items we could get her for OT.

We are thanking the Lord that we found a trike for Dixie that should work for years to come. Now to figure out how to get the cost of the trike covered.

I haven’t been the best at giving updates on Dixie.
We are home after 2 weeks of inpatient rehab at Shriner’s. She has made a lot of progress, but still has a lot to do.
Thank you so much for all your prayers. I will post pictures and videos once I have a minute to process everything.

11/13/2025

Today was Dixie’s 3rd day of her inpatient rehab.
She is getting better at taking meds and dealing with pain. She worked more on standing, rolling over, and using her left hand
Our 2 main goals for her these 2 weeks are getting back to being able to roll over and standing with straight legs with assistance.
