Kindred Connection

Kindred Connection Kindred Connection was created from the vision of two women to serve the perinatal community. Please visit our website for more information.

Kindred Connection is a collaborative network of perinatal specialists working towards the same goal: To support the perinatal community at every stage. The perinatal community includes women, birthing persons, and non-birthing partners from family planning through the postpartum stages. Our vision is to hold a safe space for women, birthing persons and non-birthing partners. We are here to help build your village of support through referral connections to professional perinatal services such as mental health and wellness, physical health, birthing education, and basic needs. Kindred Connection is built on values of inclusivity, education, advocacy and choice. Inclusivity - We strive to provide a safe space for the LGBTQAI+ & TGNB community, BIPOC community, people with disabilities, individuals of all body types, and respect all religious and spiritual beliefs.

Education - We provide up to date information and education to support families throughout their fertility, pregnancy, child birth, and parenting journey. Advocacy - We work to empower clients to advocate for themselves and stand for those who are not heard. We provide support to enhance communication and speak out against hate. Choice - We respect women and birthing persons' right to make their own healthcare choices.

An online option is included. This means you can join us on March 7th at the studio, from home, or simply get the recording to receive the shared knowledge at a future time.

Menopausal transitions can be especially challenging when we do not know what to expect or when we resist and reject the changes taking place. Yet it does not have to be so difficult. When we allow ourselves to lean into communal and individual support, education, and both Eastern and Western approaches to hormonal care, suffering is reduced, and a new, sustainable balance can emerge as we enter the next phase of life.
We invite you to join us for this 4-hour introduction to what it feels like to be supported through the menopausal transition.

✨ We are so exited to add another therapist as an affiliate with Kindred Connection! Christina is currently accepting clients! Here’s what she has to share-

Hi, I’m really glad you found your way here. Reaching out for help takes courage, so I offer a free consultation to see whether I’m the right fit for what you’re carrying. I bring over 20 years of clinical experience, and I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens. My own path into motherhood revealed the deep and often unmet need for care- for women, birthing persons, and their partners- as they move through pregnancy, birth, and all that comes after. I understand the quiet heaviness you may be carrying. I get it. This journey asks a great deal of you. You don’t have to hold it alone.

Use your voice, take a stand. Rochester has so many supportive communities and mutual aid organizations, we urge you to check them out.

Let’s talk about the real cost of accessibility.
Part 3 of the Meal-In-A-Bag Series — and this one surprised me.

Before sharing this project, I wanted to understand how realistic these meal kits are for the families we hope to support.
So I took my ingredient list and visited three stores here in Rochester: Aldi, Wegmans, and Walmart.

Here’s what I found:

🛒 Aldi — lowest cost, but missing items and hard to navigate. Great prices… but not always accessible for someone already under stress or time pressure.

🛒 Wegmans — had everything I needed, but cost about $15 more than Aldi. That’s roughly 23% more for the exact same meals.

🛒 Walmart — fast, fully stocked, low cost. And while there’s plenty to critique about Walmart, we have to acknowledge:
Boycotting is a privilege.
For families shopping with limited budget, limited energy, or two kids ready to melt down… Walmart can be the most accessible option.

This project reminded me that accessibility isn’t just about money.
It’s about time, bandwidth, transportation, store layout, and whether the ingredients are even available.

If this series inspires you and you’re in a position to help, here are two ways to support:

💛 Donate Meal-In-A-Bag Kits:
Drop them off at our office:
📍 1655 Elmwood Ave, Suite 227, Building 200, Rochester, NY 14620

💛 Contribute Directly:
Send monetary donations via Venmo — — and we’ll assemble bags on your behalf.

Community care is built through small, intentional actions that recognize the real barriers families face every day. Thank you for being part of this. 🤍✨

Small actions. Big impact. Community care starts here.
Welcome to Part 2 of our Meal-In-A-Bag Series!

After assembling these kits, I kept thinking back to the work shared — her clinic’s food pantry built through staff and community generosity. It aligned so deeply with Kindred Connection’s values that we knew we needed to connect.

So we reached out… and I’m excited to share that we’ll be collaborating with ’s office to help distribute these meal kits directly to families who need them most.

This project uses simple recipes from — accessible, affordable meals that anyone can recreate or donate.
✨ Check out for easy, printable, screenshot-able recipes!

Accessibility matters.
Community matters.
Collaboration matters.

If you’d like to contribute to this project:
💛 Shelf-stable items can be dropped off at our office:
1655 Elmwood Ave, Suite 227, Building 200, Rochester, NY 14620
💛 Monetary donations can be sent to our Venmo: memo: MEALKIT

Part 3 is coming next — and it’s an important one. I went to three different grocery stores in Rochester to compare cost, accessibility, and availability… and what I learned was eye-opening.

11/15/2025

A week of dinners. Under $65. And an idea worth sharing.
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about food security here in Rochester — especially with the SNAP crisis.

While NYS may continue to fund SNAP, the reality is this:
Food insecurity is still very real for families in our community.

After seeing highlight her clinic’s food pantry — and discovering the amazing “meal-in-a-bag” recipes by — I felt inspired to try the project myself.

So I gathered seven recipes, bought the ingredients, and assembled a week’s worth of dinner kits that can be donated to families who could use support.

-Seven meals. Under $65.
- Simple ingredients. Easy to assemble.
- Made with love, care, and community in mind.

This is Part 1 of a 3-part series.
Part 2 is coming next — where we take this project one step further. 💛
