I dove recklessly into authenticity in my post about the quilt “In The Clouds,” which features the creative process behind its construction.

The rainbow means so many different things to me, and this wall hanging offered an opportunity to process the specifics. It is easy to connect my art with the use of bright colors, and it goes deeper than that. 🌈

Rainbows are used symbolically in the mental health world to represent different things, many of which resonate with me and connect to existing passions.

It's just who I am: a technically-minded therapist as chill as the clouds in the sky.

A reminder of the most important things in life can be seen in the smallest moments everyday. Raising a happy and healthy son who feels confident to express authenticity is a top priority. Today, I recognized a huge leap in growth for him, both on a mental health level and a physical level.

On a summer say when sunlight and blue sky are fighting for real estate and shade from a fence post is better than nothing, it may be best to move as little as possible. So, naturally, I found myself watching my son be his amazing self at a skatepark, testing his abilities on a halfpipe. As we both found ourselves dripping in sweat, I realized how lucky we are, how far he has come, and how much he has grown.

Sometimes the most uncomfortable moments can offer the most joy. Maybe it’s a matter of contrast, or maybe the absence of comfort forces a pause, and you look around to see where you are. In a world that moves so fast, pausing can lead to FOMO, but it is important to go with the flow and trust the timing of the universe.
