A wonderful tribute for our tough kid.❤️🎗

There was a disco ball. And cowbells. Hand clappers and a receiving line, each person giving Madi a high-five as she proceeded down the hall earlier this week, a brilliant, beautiful smile on her 3-year-old face. With a mallet in each hand, our sweet, sassy brain cancer warrior gave the gong some seriously resounding strikes, signaling the end of her chemo infusions, 42 in all. And we’re overjoyed to share in mighty Madi’s accomplishments.🎉

Madi is s***ky and sassy, silly and sweet. But she’s also quietly determined and unshakably strong. She’s fierce, this little one. And oh-so brave. Facing every challenge and treatment of her 17-month battle with astrocytoma with little complaint. Madi just smiles through it all. And laughs. Sometimes dances. Seldom letting anything dim her shining light or change her joyful spirit. No surprise, when Madi hit the gong, she knocked it down. Mighty indeed, Madi!🤩

For anyone who wants to join us and help us celebrate; Madison rings the bell Tuesday February 10th at 10:30 a.m. at Mayo Clinic floor 16 in the childrens center! Door 1 is the oncology part and is where it will be happening.
This is her last chemotherapy infusion for this protocol, and we are so thankful her little body was able to handle it. She will have new scans in March, and then she will likely get her port removed for a while to give her body a well deserved break from chemo.
She is not "cured", but the chemotherapy she has been on has stabilized her tumor and we will continue with scans every few months to watch for any growth. We will keep you all posted as we go.
