Member Spotlight: Rescue Basics ✨
At the heart of every life-saving moment is a trained responder—and Rescue Basics is on a mission to make sure more people in the Greater Rockford area are prepared to act.
Founded in 2010 by licensed trauma nurse Jacob Sundberg, Rescue Basics provides high-quality CPR and AED training to healthcare professionals and anyone eager to learn life-saving skills. Every course is rooted in the most current evidence-based practices and taught by American Heart Association-certified instructors.
Rescue Basics brings clinical expertise to the classroom—ensuring quality education that empowers individuals and organizations to act quickly and confidently in cardiac emergencies. Their work is amplified through a partnership with local nonprofit AED Rescue Connect, helping bring CPR/AED education and public access defibrillators to the community at little or no cost.
As a Chamber member, Rescue Basics is looking to connect with like-minded organizations that prioritize the health and safety of their teams. Whether you’re looking to train first aid staff, host a community class, or sponsor a public AED, they’re here to help strengthen our region’s emergency preparedness.
Looking ahead, Rescue Basics plans to double their annual impact—training 2,000 individuals per year and helping place 30 AEDs throughout the community over the next five years.
