Exercise is something that everyone knows they need to do. But sometimes it is hard getting started.

I know when I started exercising, it was a task that seemed overwhelming. I also knew that I needed to get healthier and exercise was a part of that process.

Maybe you are looking to get started on a exercise program and you don't know where to begin or maybe you started and don't know how to keep going- here are some tips to follow.

1. Start slow and be realistic. If you are just starting out you may not be able to run a mile and that is okay. The important thing is that you get started and increase what you can do each workout.

2. Plan ahead and schedule it in your calendar. Make exercise a priority just like you would a meeting for work. Keep gym clothes in the car so you don't accidentally forget.

3. Find a workout buddy or get your family involved. Knowing you are accountable to someone else is a great motivator.

Today is World Mental Health Day!

Around the world access to mental health services remain unequal in many countries.

Many people with mental health disorders go untreated because of the lack of availability of services or inability to pay for services.

They continue to suffer stigma and discrimination because they have a mental illness.

Your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical wellbeing.

It is time for mental health treatment to be as accessible as getting treated for a broken bone. Your mind is a part of the body and should be treated as such.

So the next time you encounter someone with a mental illness, remember they are human and should be treated with kindness- not cruelty.
