Most of the planning, cooking, traveling, and holding-it-all-together is done — and your body might be feeling it.

Days (or weeks) of stress, sugar, late nights, different routines, and being “on” don’t hit all at once.

They stack.

And the body doesn’t separate emotional stress from physical stress — it just keeps track.

This isn’t about one cookie or one late night.

It’s about everything your body has been managing to get you here.

Nothing to fix.
Nothing to judge.
Just notice.

The holidays will be over soon, and simple, steady things — warmth, rest, familiar routines — help the body find its center again.

Your body hasn’t failed you.
It’s been doing a lot.

Take a deep breath, blow it out slowly and Enjoy tomorrow with family & friends!

I like my emails to feel like a little note from my kitchen.

Once a week, I share what I’m actually using — recipes, remedies, and seasonal tips that are practical and easy to try. I rarely send anything extra, except for something that really deserves its own space.

If you’re curious and want a little more right now, I’ve got a couple of guides you can grab, depending on what feels most helpful to you today:

A short tea guide for everyday remedies → https://tinyurl.com/bde9m47b

A beginner's guide for making tea → https://tinyurl.com/527hf64u

No pressure. Pick whichever feels right for now.

You’ll still get my weekly emails — the kind that feel like a note from me to your inbox.

Travel, gatherings, sugar, late nights, and stress all add up.

Often the body holds on until things slow down — then it asks for rest.

That isn’t failure. It’s feedback.

Instead of pushing or punishing, try listening.

Warm food. Simple tea. Earlier nights. Fewer demands.

Support your body the way you would a loved one who needs to recover.

Your body isn’t broken — it’s talking.

I don’t email often — just once a week — and I keep it simple.

You’ll usually get things I’m actually using at home: recipes, herbal remedies, and tips that make everyday life a little easier.

Sometimes, if something really needs its own space, I’ll send an extra note. That’s rare, but it’s how I make sure it doesn’t get lost.

If you’d like a little extra right now, I have a couple of guides you can grab, depending on what’s most useful for you:

This week we talked about dry coughs, spasmodic coughs, productive coughs, and what’s really in many store-bought remedies.

If you’re ready to go deeper, my Herbs for the Cold & Flu Season course teaches you how to:

🍂Identify the type of cough you’re dealing with
🍂Understand your body’s natural energetics
🍂Match those energetics with the right herbal energetics
🍂Choose the right herb for the right cough—confidently and safely

If you want to stop guessing and start choosing herbs that actually make sense for your body, you can find the course here: https://traceysenchantedherbals.com/herbs-for-the-cold-flu-season/

These are the active and in-active ingredients of some of the most well known brands out there:

☑Menthol: cooling, sensory relief
☑Beta carotene: colorant, from carrots or algae
☑Eucalyptus essential oil: aroma + mild airway support
☑Flavors: vague, often unknown proprietary blend
☑Isomalt: sugar alcohol for texture and bulk, from beet sugar
☑Soy lecithin: emulsifier, keeps ingredients evenly mixed
☑Sucralose: artificial sweetener, not sugar

Understanding these ingredients helps you make safer, more effective choices—often with herbs you already have at home.

Before reaching for a cough drop or syrup, have you read the label? Knowing what’s in it—and why—can change how you choose your remedies.

Mucous has an important job. It helps trap pathogens and move them out of the body.

Instead of drying it out, use gentle expectorants like honey, infused honey, garlic, and ginger to support that process.

This helps your cough stay productive, more comfortable, and allows your body to do what it’s designed to do—clear things out.

Use antispasmodic herbs to relax the cough reflex—thyme, wild cherry bark, or lobelia can help.

Your body can take a break, ease tension, and recover without completely suppressing the cough.

If you're ready, learn which antispasmodics are safe and effective in my Herbs for Cold & Flu Season course.

That dry cough just won’t quit?

Dry coughs need herbs that moisten and cool, like mallow, licorice root, or simply adding honey to your tea.

These herbs soothe irritation, calm the throat, and honey adds gentle antibacterial support to reduce infection risk.

Try a 50/50 herbal blend of hibiscus and marshmallow root & add honey to taste for a soothing tea your throat (and taste buds) will love. Drink warm or cold for relief.

Search these herbs over at the Herbal Blog for more information on each. https://traceysenchantedherbals.com/herbal-blog/

Coughs aren’t all the same.

Different types need different approaches, and choosing the right herbs—or understanding what’s in your store-bought remedies—can make all the difference.

Follow along this week as we break down dry coughs, spasmodic coughs, and productive coughs, plus what to watch for in commercial cough remedies.

Post in the comments if you've every tried an herbal remedy for a cough and how it worked or didn't work for you.
