Join us to learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and save a life.

The Chaves County Health Council is hosting a free Naloxone training for residents, families, service providers, and anyone who wants to be prepared.

🗓 Date: December 9, 2025
🕒 Time: 1:00 pm

✔ How to safely administer Naloxone

HUD Voucher applications will open for ROOSEVELT County from November 17-21st (2025). Vouchers can be transferred from one eastern county to another county. Meaning, if you need a voucher for Chaves county apply on the 17-21st and transfer it to Chaves when you find a rental.

The Chaves County Health Council is seeking an Independent Contractor to serve as a 211 Community Navigator for the Chaves County 2-1-1 Information and Referral System. The Navigator will ensure community members have reliable access to health, human service and crisis resources through compassionate, informed support.

If you are still in need of repairs due to the Chaves County Flood in October 2024, you still have time to fill out the "intent to apply" form. This grant funding will provide repairs, reconstruction, or new construction of homes for disaster-impacted households.

Volunteers are needed for the Chaves County Stand Down, a community event supporting at-risk individuals, families, and veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

We need help with:
* Setup & Tear Down: Tables, chairs and cleanup.
* Food & Beverage: Provide desserts, rolls and water for 300 attendees.
* Hospitality: Serve meal and create a welcoming environment.
* Survey: Help guests complete brief survey.
