✨As the holiday season approaches, many women find themselves juggling everyone else’s needs. This year, give yourself permission to slow down and prioritize your own wellbeing. ✨

Here are a few simple ways to care for your mind and body:

🌿 Set boundaries early. It’s okay to say no to plans that drain your energy.

🕯️ Protect your quiet time- Even 10 minutes of deep breathing, stretching, or journaling can reset your day.

🥗 Nourish with intention- Choose balanced meals that help stabilize energy and mood during busy weeks.

🚶‍♀️ Move gently-A short walk, yoga, or any joyful movement can ease tension and boost your mood.

📅 Plan ahead-but kindly- Break tasks into manageable steps and give yourself grace when things shift.

💬 Ask for support- Reach out to friends, family, or your care team if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Remember: Your health matters just as much as the season’s to-dos. Prioritizing yourself is not selfish, it’s essential. 💗

Bringing a new baby into the world can be beautiful, but it can also bring unexpected emotional challenges. Postpartum depression (PPD) is one of the most common complications after childbirth, affecting both new moms and birthing parents. Recognizing the signs early can make a world of difference. 💛 🌼

💬 Signs of Postpartum Depression:
• Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or emptiness
• Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope
• Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
• Difficulty bonding with your baby
• Changes in appetite or sleep
• Feeling guilty, hopeless, or “not like yourself”
• Thoughts of harming yourself or feeling that your family is better off without you

✨ You deserve support. Connect with your provider so we can listen and help you create a plan for moving forward. ✨

💙 Remember, you’re not failing. You’re healing.
And we are here to help every step of the way.

Reminder Announcement Regarding OBGYN Services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital! 📢

Dear Valued Providence Women's Healthcare Patient,

This letter is to inform you of a temporary and necessary change to our OBGYN services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Due to a planned medical leave for Dr. Dunson-Allen, Providence Women's Healthcare will be temporarily suspending our services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, effective November 14, 2025, through January 31, 2026. To ensure a seamless and continuous standard of care, we are recommending that all patients with delivery dates during this period choose Wellstar North Fulton Hospital as their delivery site.

For patients who choose to have their obstetric care at Emory Johns Creek Hospital during this time period, we have made arrangements to transfer your care to the Emory Clinic Group at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in early November. Please inform our providers at your upcoming OB appointment so that you can transition your care smoothly.

We anticipate resuming full OB and GYN services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital on February 2, 2026.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and trust in us. We remain deeply committed to providing you with the exemplary medical care you deserve.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly at (770) 670-6170.

Sincerely,
Providence Women's Healthcare 🩷🩷

Wednesday Wellness: Fall Foods for Hormone Balance 🍁

As the seasons change and the holidays approach, it’s the perfect time to nourish your body with cozy, hormone-balancing foods. 🧡

Here are a few festive ways to keep your hormones happy this season:

🎃 Embrace Seasonal Produce: Pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and squash are rich in fiber and vitamins that support hormone health.

🌰 Add Healthy Fats: Nuts, seeds, and avocado help keep hormones balanced and energy steady through busy holiday days.

🍎 Stabilize Blood Sugar: Pair fruit with protein like apples and almond butter to avoid sugar crashes.

🍵 Sip Smart: Swap sugary drinks for herbal teas or warm spiced cider made with real fruit and minimal sweetener.

🌿 Mindful Indulgence: Enjoy your favorite holiday treats - just balance them with whole foods and plenty of hydration.

This season, give yourself the gift of balance and wellbeing. 💫

💬 Myth: Menopause only affects older women.
✅ Truth: Menopause typically occurs between 45–55, but perimenopause- the transition period can start in your late 30s or early 40s.
Symptoms like irregular cycles, hot flashes, or mood changes can happen earlier than most expect.

If you’re feeling “off,” it could be perimenopause and there are ways to help you feel like yourself again. 🌸

Personalized Care for Every Stage of Life

When it comes to premium quality health care you can trust, Providence Women's Health Care provides patients with a partnership where we devise health care for women by listening to your needs and desires. Our helpful and friendly staff are trained to ensure that you receive care in a clean and comfortable environment. Our team of top Obstetrics and Gynecologists, Certified Nurse Midwives, and staff handle every patient with the utmost respect, surrounding them in a serene environment that incorporates state of the art equipment with the latest medical advances and technologies in each of our locations; Dunwoody, Johns Creek and Roswell. We believe that healthcare should be a partnership between the patient and the provider. This integrated approach to medicine empowers the patient to assist in designing their healthcare journey.menopause and beyond. Our goal is to offer patient-centered care based on mutual trust and communication. The midwives are healthcare providers that are experts in natural birth and water birth. Their desire is to educate expectant parents about pregnancy, labor, and birth choices and then support them as they make informed decisions about their care. Whether they are wanting a natural birth, epidural birth, VBAC, or water birth, our midwives are able to assist each individual to meet their personal individualized goals. Providence midwives also have a relationship with multiple other professionals for referrals when needed including: massage therapists, chiropractors, doulas, childbirth educators, acupuncturists, and lactation specialists. Providence Midwifery also offers the Centering Pregnancy model of prenatal care. It is a model of group prenatal care that integrates three major components: assessment, education, and support. Patients meet with their midwife and other group participants that are at a similar gestational age in their pregnancy for an extended period of 120 minutes at regularly scheduled visits over the course of their care. Check out http://www.centeringhealthcare.org for more information on Centering Pregnancy.
