OUR STORY...

The inspiration for LUMION’s formula comes from a century old oxygenation process that dates back to World War I where it was used to heal combat wounds in half the time. Initially, the formula would stay active for less than 24 hours. In 1998 a health-conscience entrepreneur named Cap Briant (our co-founder’s father), acquired a machine capable of creating hypochlorous acid. In 2010 he began experimenting with the natural stabilization of the LUMION formula, because he believes that the toxic ingredients found in most consumer products are degrading our health. Cap developed a proprietary non-toxic stabilization process allowing for an 18-month shelf life. The FDA granted over the counter (OTC) and prescription (Rx) clearance of this solution in 2012.

Amy, a fitness entrepreneur, is always on-the-go and found her skin suffering from breakouts. On a trip to Missouri, Cap began putting the solution on her breakouts and by day three Amy was breakout free. Lisa and Amy met on an airplane in 2011. After striking up conversation they realized their mutual passion for a healthy lifestyle. Lisa who has worked in marketing with various beauty companies put the “solution” on a patch of eczema and became an instant believer. Amy’s entrepreneurship + Lisa’s industry expertise + a product that had saved them both equated to a serendipitous partnership. LUMIONskin launched August 2016.
