Russellville Fire Department – Public Notice for Wednesday April 1st

The City of Russellville and other area agencies will be assisting with funeral services for Assistant Chief Steve Perry. The service will be held at New Life Church, and the surrounding area will be impacted.

Location: New Life Church and surrounding areas along East Harrell Drive (near Holiday Inn Express and Cracker Barrel)
Date: Wednesday April 1st
Time: Approximately 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM

What to expect:
• Increased emergency vehicle presence and staging in the area
• Temporary traffic delays or rerouting
• Survival Flight 7 landing and takeoff

We ask the public to:
• Use caution when traveling through the area
• Avoid the immediate area if possible during this time
• Follow all directions from law enforcement and traffic control personnel

All businesses in the area will remain open and accessible.

Today our crews responded to a motorcycle accident that required an air ambulance.

Our paramedics made patient contact and quickly determined the patient would benefit from getting to a higher level of care in Little Rock. An air ambulance was requested and Survival Flight 7 was sent to the scene.

Our firefighters secured the roadway and established a landing zone so the helicopter could land safely. Once on the ground, our paramedics worked alongside the flight crew to transfer care and get the patient loaded quickly so they could get to Little Rock.

It’s usually not a good circumstance when we have to call in an air ambulance, but when the moment comes these crews show up ready to work.

We appreciate the crew of Survival Flight 7 and the partnership we have with them. When seconds matter, teamwork like this makes a difference.

Also a big thank you to Russellville Police Department for their assistance on scene today.

Survival Flight 7 safely on scene in Van Buren County, AR thanks to the outstanding coordination and support of multiple agencies working together to establish a secure landing zone and ensure a safe arrival.

We’re grateful for the collaboration and professionalism of Survival Flight EMS, Botkinburg Volunteer FIRE Department, Van Buren County Rescue Squad, Inc., Arkansas Game Wardens.
