Peri- and Post- Menopausal?

Never stop learning!

I’m incredibly excited to be heading to Boston for an intensive 5-day Harvard Medical School Menopause Summit. I am dedicated to staying on the cutting edge of research so I can bring the absolute best care and knowledge back to my clients. I’m always striving to learn more about how to support you through every stage.

While I’m soaking up new info there, I wanted to share some vital information right here. My latest blog post dives deep into a tool that changes the game for many women in perimenopause: local estrogen cream.

We bust the myths on safety and talk about why it helps with dryness, urgency, and tissue health. Check it out!

If you’re navigating perimenopause, you’ve likely noticed that things "down there" just don’t feel the same. Maybe it’s a lingering dryness, a sudden sensitivity to certain fabrics, or a feeling of irritation that wasn’t there five years ago. When we talk about perimenopause, we often focus...

Let’s talk about the things we usually whisper. 🤫

Why is it that we can talk for hours about our skincare routines or our gym PRs, but we whisper when it comes to bladder leaks or bathroom habits?

It’s time to stop whispering. Pelvic health is HeALtH, period.

I’m currently accepting new clients for:
✅ In-clinic appointments
✅ Virtual consultations
✅ In-home "Pelvic Social" parties (The most fun you’ll ever have with your friends talking about menopause or bladder health—promise!)
Stop Googling your symptoms and let’s get to the root of the issue.

Cancer treatment is already a marathon; you don’t need bathroom emergencies making it an obstacle course. Yet many people undergoing chemotherapy or radiation for cancer discover something no one warned them about — their bowels have suddenly gone rogue. Constipation one day, urgent sprints to t...

If you think Maine’s 5-way intersection is confusing, meet the pelvic floor after pregnancy or injury:
🚦 Muscles going left when they should go right
🚦 Nerves sending mixed messages
🚦 Everyone trying to be the boss of the intersection
Pelvic PT is like adding a skilled traffic cop to your pelvic floor—directing the flow, calming the chaos, and preventing collisions (or leaks 😉).
Want your pelvic floor to run like a smooth roundabout instead of a 5-way free-for-all? Message me!

Think your bladder is ‘weak’? Maybe it’s just confused. New post on bladder training habits ⬇️

Ever find yourself saying, “I’ll just go before we leave—just in case”? Or doing the hover-over-a-public-toilet routine like you’re in a quad workout? Turns out, those little quirks you thought were harmless might be stressing your bladder and pelvic floor more than that iced coffee you dr...

Why “non-traditional” PT might just be the best tradition you start 🩷

Think of it like this:
In a typical clinic, insurance calls the shots. Codes, coverage, surprise bills, overlapping appointments…you’re on their schedule, not yours.

At Caron Physical Therapy, it’s flipped: you + me, one-on-one, flat rate, no surprise charges, no “what codes did we bill today?” headaches.

Here’s why this works:

* Predictable costs: one flat fee, no matter what treatment you need.
* Personalized attention: no juggling patients — your hour is your hour.
* Better outcomes, fewer visits: we get more done in one session because it’s all about you.
* Open communication: questions between visits? Reach out. I’m here.
* Extra perk: I’ll hand you a clear, simple “superbill” so you can submit it to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement — if they cover it, they pay you directly. (Think of it as insurance’s version of a cash-back reward.)

I’m not here to satisfy insurance companies; I’m here to help YoU recover. Whether it’s pelvic health or a nagging orthopedic injury, we’ll tackle it together. And if you’ve got a high-deductible plan, this may actually save you money.

Non-traditional? Maybe.
Better care? Absolutely.

“When things feel ‘meh’ after baby or menopause, it’s not you. It’s your pelvic floor asking for a tune-up. 🔧 The secret weapon nobody mentions. Blog here 👉

Let’s get real for a second. Nobody hands you a manual that says, “By the way, after childbirth or menopause, s*x might feel totally different.” But here you are — maybe things feel looser, maybe or***ms are harder to come by, or maybe it all just feels…meh. It’s common. But it’s not s...

Pelvic PT tip: Don’t power through pain — pleasure deserves center stage.

Let’s be real… sometimes intimacy feels more “yikes” than “yes.” 🙈
That’s where OHNUT comes in — think of it as a bumper for better s*x. It takes the too much out of the moment so you can focus on what actually matters: connection, pleasure, and maybe even a little mischief. 😉
Pelvic PT tip of the day: comfort is s*xy. Pain is not. 💜
👉 Pain (or fear of pain) with deep pe*******on is more common than you think, and it can happen for many reasons:
* Pelvic floor muscle tension or spasm
* Endometriosis or pelvic surgery history
* Postpartum changes or scar tissue
* Prolapse or pelvic organ pressure
* Inflammation or conditions like interstitial cystitis
* Simply feeling “too much, too deep, too fast”
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — and there are tools (like OHNUT) and therapies (like pelvic PT!) that can help intimacy feel like yes again.

Toilet treasure hunter level: Expert unlocked. 🕵️‍♀️

🚽 Toilet treasure hunter? 🕵️‍♀️

If you can spot the nearest bathroom in a mall, grocery store, or while driving through town faster than Google Maps, you might just be a seasoned pro. You’ve got bathroom radar, a mental restroom Rolodex, and maybe even a favorite stall at Target. (We all do, right?)

But here’s the thing: constant urgency, frequency, or leaks shouldn’t make you feel like you’re on a scavenger hunt every time you leave the house. That’s exhausting!

✨ Pelvic Physical Therapy can help calm your bladder, retrain your pelvic floor, and give you the freedom to focus on living life — not scouting restrooms.

Imagine: more time shopping, laughing, traveling, or sipping that latte… and less time anxiously eyeing the “Employees Only” door. 😉

💜 Caron Physical TherapyBecause your bladder deserves to retire the map and you deserve your freedom back

🚽 P**p fact: It’s supposed to be a reflex, not an Olympic event. 🏋️‍♀️
If you’re straining, pushing, or waiting forever for the urge to show up — your sensory system might be the problem, not your diet.

🚽 Constipation isn’t always just about “going”
For some people, constipation isn’t from food, water, or fiber. It’s actually a sensory issue.
Normally, the body has a reflex called the sampling reflex — your re**um senses stool, sends a signal to your brain, and you feel that natural “urge to go.” P**ping should be mostly reflexive, not forced.

But if that reflex isn’t strong, you may:
* Not feel the urge until stool is very backed up
* Strain and push without success
* Confuse the “push” needed to release with abdominal bearing down that just makes things tighter and then won’t come out 💩

That’s why constipation is sometimes less about the gut and more about pelvic floor coordination + sensation.
👉 Pelvic floor physical therapy can retrain those reflexes, improve sensation, and teach your body the right way to push so pooping becomes a normal reflex again — not a daily struggle.

Your body was designed to do this automatically. If it’s not, there’s help. 🌿
