It's been a while since my last connection with you all, and, wow, how much has changed since then! Kona, the single most important being in my life and source of guiding light, has passed over the Rainbow Bridge after nearly 16 amazing years together. She is now nestled deeply in my Heart, a part of every breath I take, reminding me every minute of the day she is indeed still with me. I've always said that whatever our souls are made of, hers and mine are the same. I can honestly say I believe that more today than ever! Moving forward, it's incredibly important to me that I walk through each day in her honor, and that her many life lessons are carried on for all to benefit from. And this brings me to Facebook...aahhhh, Facebook. Anyone who knows me understands that social media is my nemesis. Really, technology in all forms is the bane of my existence. Hahaha! If given 5 minutes, you can bet that I'll be found outside, petting all the dogs, hugging a tree, walking along the river, talking to the birds and the squirrels, basically doing ANYTHING other than sitting in front of a computer. This page was never intended to be one of cute pictures and funny memes... although those are fun too, just not what I had in mind. It is my intention to make the Kona's Kitchen page a true resource for anyone wanting a kinder understanding of how to blend mindful eating and graceful living. How will I do this? I'm going to start by walking away from it all. Yup, you read that right. Until I can come back around in a way that makes more sense for what I'm trying to share with you, I'm going to step away and focus on other opportunities for now. Opportunities...that's a powerful word right there, and one that I am diving into whole-heartedly. I’ve been invited to share a platform next month in Toronto, Canada, with some of the brightest minds of our time, and a few of my idols... Drs. Jean Dodds, Julie Anne Lee, Sue Armstrong, Meg Smart, and Dee Blanco. For more information, or to purchase a ticket, go to www.healthybarker.net. I'm also very excited to share with you that I'm working on a seasonal project with Alison and Hanna of Evermore Pet Foods. I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the launch date, but suffice it to say, it will be beautiful and true to Kona's teachings. With all of this good stuff taking shape, I’ll also be launching a brand new website and logo, so stay tuned! For now, I'm off to focus on cultivating these new opportunities, and will be back sometime in the future with a page that is a more accurate reflection of the work that I do and the person that I am. Please know that I'm in no way walking away from my clients (current or future), I'm simply walking away from all forms of social media. Until my return to this page, I'll be wishing you much peace, joy, love, laughter, tail wags, and all good things! Be and stay well.
