Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Still the same advice ☺️

At the end of the day, if you didn't like how it went, take a deep breath, get some sleep and start fresh tomorrow. The weight of one day does not have to steer each day after it.
If that weight keeps holding you back each day, it's time to start thinking about talking to me or someone like me. Go on my website and see if I might be a fit for you, or go to my resource page and look under 'Therapist directory' and see if someone else might be a fit. Sometimes we need a little help and support to live the life we want and asking for it can be difficult, but worth it in the end. Professionals like me are here for you when you may be feeling stuck, lost, weighed down and not sure what to do next.

You know this weekend had some great weather here. The temperature was good. The breeze was at a perfect speed and temperature. Sometimes just being outside and doing nothing, reading, writing catching up with friends. It's good to have resets. All the time! Now I'm preparing for the heat to come back full force!

The fear of not being enough, and the fear of being ‘too much,’ are exactly the same fear. The fear of being you.

Ever experienced hyperventilating before? Its to have abnormal breathing. It can be brought on by stress, anxiety, excitement. Those who have panic/anxiety attacks may experience this symptom where you continually can’t catch your breath and you keep reaching for more air, but you just keep losing carbon dioxide. Those who have severe experience can sometimes pass out. Its a scary feeling which is usually what causes it to continue because you get worried you won’t be able to catch your breath. There are plenty of techniques that can help reduce the symptoms or prevent them from happening, but they take practice.
That first time you start hyperventilating and your new tools you have been practicing start to work, it's an exciting time! And you just go with the flow of your natural breath. So Satisfying! Keep working at it.

The ongoing question of "Does my therapist think about me in between sessions?" The simple answer is 'yes', but maybe not in the way you think. Now I can only speak for myself, but we do have to have a boundary of how much time we associate for work and time for the rest of our lives. It does mean that we don't have you come to mind when we see a book that might benefit you, or a quote that fits perfectly with the session we had or a situation that comes up that is similar to yours. When not in "work mode" there may be times that come up, but they aren't going to be ongoing. We care about you and hope you are doing well when you are not in our sessions.
So when you tell us that you that there has been a lot going on and you have to postpone our next session a couple weeks… we have to hold back to ask about everything and wait for our session.

We will always make “bad choices” in our lives. It is inevitable. We learn from our choices, good and bad. We only can keep ourselves with having the best intentions for our lives. If it ends up being a bad choice, we learn and we change in the future. Each choice we make in life we learn from and we help ourselves from making as many “bad choices” in the future.

Sometimes we need to be brave enough to outgrow the life we’ve built.
