A small story/exercise:
A photographer came over last weekend to document Emzy and my day as part of her day in the life documentary photo series and she was curious about awareness and I looked at a flower outside and asked her what her experience of it was.
She started to rattle off descriptions- it’s yellow , it has green leaves it’s a flower etc.. so the challenge is - what is the flower without labels, what the direct experience of the flower with no concepts - how does the flower exist in the moment of your perception?
Can you SEE the flower beyond the concept of “flower”… it’s a stretch I know and the mind loses it. It’s pretty difficult because the mind continues to go back to what it knows - allow that to flow if it comes up then sit with it.
Sit with the stillness of the expression of consciousness in front of you - with no definitions and EXPERIENCE THE BEING of the perception in front of you - the pure essence of
The material you’re perceiving… and see how that “feels”
