Sometimes, you can use representational objects

📋 Photographs

Can use pictures from online or take pictures in person to be more concrete

📋 Icons

📋Written
2-3 words to full sentences depending on reading level and comfort

📋 Combination
Photos / Icons with words, for emerging readers

Let’s Talk About S*x – S*xual Health and Wellness Workshop for PARENTS of Students with Disabilities

October 24 & 25, 2022 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

If you find it uncomfortable to talk with your child about sexuality and puberty, you’re not alone. Most parents do. However, being comfortable talking about this with your child is so important, as these conversations are critical to your child’s health and safety. They help your child with a disability develop self-care skills, cultivate social skills, gain an understanding of appropriate behaviors, increase personal safety, and work toward becoming a more independent adult.

Parents know their children best and are the ones who determine when and what information their child needs regarding sexual health. This training will provide information for parents/guardians and offer practical tools and strategies you can use along your child’s journey to adulthood.

THIS TRAINING HAS 2 SESSIONS. REGISTRANTS SHOULD PLAN TO ATTEND BOTH THE OCTOBER 24th AND OCTOBER 25th VIRTUAL SESSIONS.

I’ve been keeping a secret! 🤫

Myself and many other talented people have been working with to put together some FREE training for you. So, what exactly are we talking about?

NO CHILD IS UNTEACHABLE! Even though it may feel like it sometimes, the behavior of challenging students is a signal that they need your help. We'll explain why your students with learning challenges, ADHD, autism, or anxiety behave the way they do and provide the expert strategies, information, and support you need to help your students build the skills and confidence necessary to succeed at school and shine. Join us for the FREE, online School Struggles Summit Sept 12-15. Grab your spot at: https://thebehaviorrevolution.com/parenting-summits/school-struggles-summit-2022/?affiliate=sam_parmerlee

You’ll learn how to:
🎯 address learning and behavior struggles with dignity and respect
🎯 help a student re-engage who has shut down or given up on school
🎯 make changes for your entire classroom that help struggling learners but benefit all students
🎯 use a student’s strengths to overcome challenges and nurture confidence
🎯 manage classroom behavior with science-backed strategies that are also compassionate and effective (more than PBS)
🎯 help students struggling with reading, writing, math, or processing speed
🎯 foster a collaborative, community atmosphere in your classroom
🎯 shift from a compliance model to a humanistic model focused on connection, regulation, and collaboration
🎯 recognize behavior as a stress response and a signal that the student needs your help
🎯 co-regulate with your students instead of co-escalate
