Dolores Huerta spoke out in her 90s, meaning she carried that pain and trauma for decades. Many survivors never get the chance to share their truth, and I’m deeply grateful she did.

Before asking why someone didn’t come forward sooner, zoom out. We live in a patriarchy. It’s a system that has long protected people in power, especially wealthy men, while enabling coercion, abuse, and exploitation of those with less power.

We must acknowledge this reality as more women share their stories.
