“Nuat phaen boran” which accurately translates as ancient massage and traditional massage is also known now as Thai massage, Thai ancient massage, ancient massage, traditional Thai massage, Thai yoga massage, yoga massage, Thai classical massage, Thai bodywork, passive yoga, or assisted yoga.

In Thai Massage the recipient is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage. In the northern style there are a lot of stretching movements unlike the southern style where pressure is emphasized. It was believed that the massage art was brought over to Thailand by Dr Shivago K., a contemporary of Buddha almost about 2500 years ago.

The massage recipient changes into pajamas and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. The therapist leans on the recipient’s body using hands and forearms to apply firm rhythmic pressure to almost every part of the taker’s body. The massage generally follows the SEN lines on the body-somewhat analogous to Chinese Acupuncture Meridians. In some gestures, legs and feet of the giver are used to fixate the body or limbs of the recipient. In other gestures, hands fixate the body, while the feet do the massaging action. Usually no oil is applied. The theory of Myofascial Release requires an understanding of the fascial system (or connective tissue). The fascia is a specialized system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spider’s web or a sweater.



Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein as well as all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a system of separate coverings. It is actually one structure that exists from head to foot without interruption. In this way you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater.

Миофасциальный массаж .(MFT)

Техника массажа, которая воздействует не на мышцы, а на фасции, окружающие мышцы (оболочки из соединительной ткани, которые образуют футляры для мышц). Особенность метода заключается в том, что можно добиться полного расслабления одной или группы мышц, которые находятся в состоянии спазма (зажима, напряжения). Поверхностные или подкожные фасции располагаются под слоем подкожного, жира и именно на них воздействует массаж.

Предназначение массажа — избавить человека от миофасциального болевого синдрома , который проявляется спазмом мышц. Из-за слишком большой нагрузки в мышечной ткани возникает сильное напряжение и активизируются триггерные точки (болезненные уплотнения). Причины возникновения — прямой ушиб мышц или растяжение. Для спортсменов частая причина активизации триггеров — неудачный поворот, бросок, прыжок. Резкие активные движения также пагубно сказываются на неразогретых мышцах. Однако миофасциальный массаж показан не только при травмах — он полезен всем активно тренирующимся людям для более эффективной работы мышц.

Вначале вас прощупают, чтобы определить, где сосредоточено напряжение мышцю Затем это напряжение будет сниматься с помощью специальных движений руками и дополнительных массажных аксессуаров. Проходить такой массаж рекомендуется раз в 3-5 дней. Первый сеанс длится не более 40 минут, чтобы уберечь организм от слишком большого стресса, но, последующие сеансы могут занимать до 90 минут.

Миофасциальный массаж начинается с шеи и переходит к плечам, затем к области позвоночника и, наконец, пояснично-крестцовому отделу. Во время миофасциального массажа происходит давление вертикально по всему периметру мышц (давление осуществляется по обе стороны позвоночника). Следующий прием — разминание: руки массажиста движутся вдоль тела снизу вверх. Это расслабляет и растягивает мышцы.

Глубокое воздействие на фасции и мышцы разрушает спазмаические узлы или расслабляет напряженные мышцы и спайки, образующиеся между мышечнми слоями. Миофасциальный массаж восстанавливает нормальный кровоток и здоровье тканей. Однако его эффект распространяется еще дальше. Например, если делать его регулярно, то у вас улучшится осанка, координация движений, а значит и спортивные достижения, и качество жизни в целом.
