There are so many myths about food insecurity. We are here to separate the myths from the facts.

Many people think food insecurity might not impact seniors, but that is far from the truth. The reality is most seniors on fixed incomes are forced to choose between food, medicine and utilities every month.

At St. Vincent de Paul we are working to help seniors in placer county who might be facing challenges like food insecurity. Through programs such as our Food Locker, BAGS Home delivery, and Seniors in Crisis we are actively preventing hunger and homelessness in our community.

If you are interested in learning more about what our organization does, or how you can help us make a difference you can visit our website at placersvdp.com or find the link in our profile.

Additionally, if you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table, check out the "Get Help" page on our website to find out how we can help.

Food insecurity is more than an empty fridge, it’s the daily uncertainty of not knowing where the next meal will come from.

Millions of families, including children and seniors, face this reality every year. It affects not just how much people eat, but the quality and variety of food they can access.

But there is hope!

Through programs like our food locker, BAGS home delivery, dining room, and emergency rent and utility assistance, we’re working to meet neighbors where they are right here in Placer County.

If you want to help us on our mission to put an end to food insecurity you can visit our website through the link in our profile, or at placersvdp.com to learn more about how you can make a difference.
