How to recognise embodied Emotional Intelligence off the dance floor

Grounding is the movement toward connection with earth, feeling our weight and substance, rooting ourselves; how we stand on the ground, move across it, relate to it, and how we feel that connection in our body. It is the movement of energy downward in the body that can settle us when we’re imbalanced or over-activated physically, emotionally, mentally.
Grounding is an essential skill for settling ourselves when we’re feeling out of balance or over-activated physically, emotionally, mentally.
How we stand on the ground and move across it is a mindfulness practice that supports our solid presence no matter what is swirling around us. It is grounded movement that supports our sense of safety within our own bodies and in the world.
Open Floor is a resource based movement practice. We explore new ways of moving and responding to what is happening with intention and purpose. We learn to understand our habits and patterns for deeper insight and self awareness. The more we embody different responses in our movements, the more resources we can call on to move through life with flexibility, resilience and ease. In these changing times, the 10 Movement Resources are a way to support ourselves both on and off the dance floor
