I rarely post on my business page, but my personal page has been, and always will be, in full support of Black Lives Matter. I am outspoken in my day-to-day life, as I should be in all aspects of my life.

Black Lives Matter. To be silent is to be complicit.

I'm honored to be able to offer families this experience.

"By 4 months of age, the brains of infants in the study who underwent delayed clamping had more myelin, a brain-insulating material, compared to those whose cords were clamped within 20 seconds. Myelin, which accelerates communication in the brain, is produced by iron-dependent brain cells."

At my EMT recertification training, I got to talk to a lot of fellow EMTs about the benefits of making sure that the cord stopped pulsing before clamping.

A 5-minute delay in clamping the umbilical cord after birth may benefit an infant’s developing brain, suggests a small study funded by the National Institutes of Health. By 4 months of age, the brains of infants in the study who underwent delayed clamping had more myelin, a brain-insulating materi...

Did you know that I'm a Mommywise certified sleep coach?

When I first started working with families, I had a much different idea about sleep training. I thought that it was cruel and that babies needed to be rocked and fed and helped to sleep until they would just start sleeping long stretches on their own.

And then I met sleep deprived parents who were running red lights, whose health was suffering, who had horrible postpartum depression, whose marriages were suffering, who just couldn't cope with such small amounts of sleep.

And I felt SO guilty. Because I had formed an opinion without really seeing the effects of sleep deprivation firsthand.

Which is why I have spent a lot of time over the past few years really learning about sleep, how it can work within the breastfeeding relationship, and why it's so incredibly important for every individual's health.

If you are concerned about your baby's sleep (or lack thereof), please reach out to me. You need sleep, your baby needs sleep. I can help.
