๐ŸŽ St. Johnsville EMS โ€“ Stuff the Truck Toy Drive! ๐ŸŽ

Weโ€™re excited to be participating in a โ€œStuff the Truckโ€ Toy Drive to help spread some holiday cheer this season! โค๏ธ

Anyone wishing to participate can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at either of our stations:

๐Ÿš‘ Station on Route 29:
Place your toy donation in the orange and white ambulance parked in the lot.

๐Ÿšจ St. Johnsville Station:
You can leave your toy in the breezeway.

Both locations are monitored by cameras, so your generous donations will stay safe until theyโ€™re delivered to local children in need.

Weโ€™ll be taking all collected toys to the Emergency Services Convoy on November 29th at 10 AM โ€” letโ€™s fill that truck before then! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Help us make the holidays a little brighter for kids in our community! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿš‘ Big Congratulations to Brandon Watson! ๐ŸŽ‰

We are thrilled to announce that Brandon Watson, our agencyโ€™s Operations Manager and a Registered Nurse (RN), has completed his training and earned his IBSC, CCP-C (Certified Critical Care Paramedic) certification! ๐Ÿ‘

This certification represents the highest level of paramedic education currently available and equips Brandonโ€”and our entire critical care teamโ€”with the advanced knowledge, training, and specialized equipment needed to provide life-saving interventions for critically ill or injured patients during hospital-to-hospital transfers.

Our Critical Care Paramedics go far beyond standard paramedic training to ensure patients receive the highest level of care when every second counts.

Join us in congratulating Brandon on this incredible achievement and welcoming him to our team of highly trained Critical Care Paramedics! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ Honoring Dedication and Service ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš‘

Please join us in recognizing Dan Engle for his unwavering dedication to EMS and fire service. Dan recently took part in the CNY Stair Climb, a powerful and humbling tribute to the fallen firefighters of 9/11.

Climbing in their honor, Dan carried more than just gearโ€”he carried the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. His commitment to serving others and honoring the legacy of our fallen heroes is a true reflection of the heart and courage behind the uniform.

Thank you, Dan, for your service, your heart, and your continued dedication. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿšจ

How we started....

St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps was founded on November 26, 1968. A group of local community members gathered at the St. Johnsville Community House and discussed the need for a volunteer Ambulance Corp. Mayor Angelo Giaquinto presided over the meeting. At this meeting the very first Board of Directors was appointed, consisting of Robert Perry, Joe Green, Frank Christiance, Joe Rider, John Bilobrowka, Carmine Giaquinto and Carlo Polidori.

At the time the local funeral directors would use a hearse to transport the sick and injured to the local hospital.

After several months of hard work, St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance opened the โ€œambulance doorsโ€ on January 1, 1969.

They needed to start the engine up quickly as the first โ€œactivationโ€ for a call came on January 1, 1969 with an automobile accident at the Old Mill Inn on Rt 5. This Inn no longer stands but the old log books tell us that the first crew to answer the call were J. Bilobrowka, K. Mereness and G. Jubar. The log book indicates that 3 patients were transported to Little Falls Hospital.
