The people some highlights from the fight so here's a few
Walked out to BLIND by Korn đ¤. Accidentally timed it perfectly and I was so happy that I didn't know what to do đ.
Things I'm happy about:
1. The state I got my mind, body, and nervous system in before the fight. There is no way around being nervous for a fight but I felt like I did a solid job of observing the nerves, and actually felt calm, focused, and ready. Body felt lose, explosive, and primed to fight. Lots of meditation and strategic prep work went into these components. As a coach myself, I was happy about this.
2. My defense, head movement, and foot movement was solid. I was hard to hit, which was a goal of mine. I did drop my hands way too much after the first round but did a solid job protecting when needed.
3. I threw and landed hard punches, with power.
4. I threw counter punches that landed as well, which was another goal of mine
5. The result, TKO is always nice.
Things I wasn't as happy about:
1. I wanted to be a more technical and not brawl, which I know is my tendency. After I did some damage I started throwing some bombs and got a sloppier than I wanted. Before the fight, I was talking about this non stop đ. Just wanted to be a little more consistently technical and BOX. If you have any experience in this sport, you know it takes a lot of time, energy, and experience to keep things tight. I'm not there.
2. I wanted to pace a little better, my conditioning felt good but I got excited and over exerted a few times.
3. I wanted to land more straight punches, as I just mentioned, I started throwing too many hooks when I wasn't feeling threatened.
4. I lost my base a few times, which to me, is one of, if not the most important part of this sport. A good boxer maintains his balance and base.
I like boxing, but my foundations are in MMA and that doesn't translate as much. Boxing is much tighter and would take a lot more work for me to fully embody it.
Idk if I'll compete again, but if I do, it's probably MMA. Do the people want to see this?
For now I'm focused on business! And growing the system, but this was a fun little side quest and I grateful for all of it.
