Recall on Stryker AED pads
Urgent Notice From Stryker
Stryker has initiated a voluntary recall on its Pad-Pak line of AED accessories. To ensure full clarity, we have compiled and included all relevant information below.
As the recall process continues to develop Cardio Partners will continue to work closely with the Stryker team to ensure all necessary steps are taken. We will be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
What You Need To Know
Impacted Product: HeartSine Samaritan Pad-Paks (-01, -02, -07) that have an expiry date between April 17th, 2025–August 1, 2029.
US customer letters will be sent by Stryker starting September 30th.
Additional Detail: Post-market surveillance found that improper insertion of pad-paks in HeartSine Samaritan PAD devices, whether from user error or bent locator pins, can cause the unit to repeatedly say “Apply Pads to patient’s bare chest” or, in some cases, not power on at all.
Potential Risk: Device may fail to deliver the intended therapy during use.
No immediate action is required from you at this moment, however, we wanted to ensure you had all the information you needed to properly respond to any potential customer inquiries.
If you have immediate questions, please contact RSRecall@stryker.com.
