Five years ago today, my mom underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. It was an incredibly difficult time for our family, especially during the period of waiting and uncertainty while doctors determined whether the cancer had spread.
The months and years that followed were filled with appointments, monitoring, and cautious hope. Today, I am deeply grateful to share that she is cancer free. I am especially thankful to my God, Jehovah, as well as to our family, friends, and the many doctors and nurses whose care, support, and dedication meant so much throughout her journey.
That experience profoundly changed me. It was during that time that I was introduced to massage therapy and witnessed firsthand the impact therapeutic touch can have — not only physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. I saw how it could provide comfort, support healing, and help someone feel cared for during one of the most vulnerable seasons of their life.
My mom’s journey played a significant role in shaping the path I chose professionally and continues to influence how I approach caring for others every day. You may see me post a lot about appointment availability — it’s not a sales pitch, but because I see how meaningful this work is and how much it can help people.
I am incredibly thankful for her strength, resilience, and the perspective her journey has given me. I look forward to the day when no one will say they are sick, as Isaiah 33:24 promises.
Love you, Mom. 💖
