Today is National Working Moms Day.

And today I want to pause and honor the women in medicine who are also mothers.

The ones who show up for their patients, and then go home and show up again for their families.

You move between exam rooms and school pick ups.
Between patient charts and bedtime stories.
Between long shifts and the quiet moments that matter most at home.

Some days it feels seamless.

Other days it takes every ounce of strength you have.

But you keep showing up.

Not because it is easy.

But because love has always been stronger than exhaustion.

Today we honor the strength, the love, and the sacrifices of every working mom in medicine who continues to care for others while also caring for the people who mean the most to her.

Your work matters.

Your presence matters.

And the example you are setting for your children, your patients, and the next generation of women in medicine matters more than you know.

To every mom in medicine reading this today, we see you.

And today, we celebrate you.

Happy National Working Moms Day.

Earlier this week the clocks shifted for Daylight Saving Time.

Just one hour.

Such a small change on paper.

And yet many of us feel it.

Sleep is slightly off.
Morning feels different.
The body takes time to recalibrate.

It is a reminder of how sensitive our systems really are.

Even a one hour shift asks something of the nervous system.

And yet in healthcare, we often expect ourselves to adjust instantly to far bigger shifts.

Long days.
Full schedules.
Constant emotional presence.

We move from one patient to the next without much space to reset.

Over time, those small adjustments accumulate.

The clock changed.

But it also made me think about something quieter.

How often do we notice when our own internal rhythm needs time to catch up?

Not everything in life resets as easily as a clock.

Sometimes the most important shift is simply pausing long enough to notice how we are actually doing.

Today, try one small reset.

Step outside for five minutes of daylight.
Take three slow breaths before your next task.
Or check in with your body instead of pushing straight to the next thing.

Small pauses matter.

And sometimes they are exactly what our nervous system has been asking for.

If this resonated with you, share it with a colleague who might need the reminder to pause today.

I’m honored to introduce one of the facilitators joining us at the Women’s Restore and Rejuvenate Retreat.

Candice Van Dertholen is an Energy Medicine Practitioner, retreat facilitator, and founder of The Warrior Within Healing. She works with high performing professionals and leaders to help them reduce stress, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with clarity through energy healing and embodiment practices.

With over 20 years in leadership and client relations, Candice creates thoughtful spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience meaningful restoration.

During the retreat, Candice will guide energy healing sessions designed to support relaxation, nervous system balance, and overall well being. These sessions offer a chance to pause, breathe, and allow your body and mind to reset.

If you’re a healthcare professional who spends your days caring for others, this is an opportunity to take care of yourself in a meaningful way. To reconnect with your own well being, to flourish personally and professionally, and to step back into your work with greater clarity, steadiness, and renewed energy.

You’ll leave the retreat feeling more grounded, more present, and more connected to yourself.

Registration is open and we only have a few spots remaining.
If you’ve been considering joining us, now is the time.
