I winter-sowed this cauliflower along with some Brunswick cabbage — but this little fighter was the only one that made it all the way! 🥦 I didn’t cover them, so the cabbage worms definitely had their feast 😅… yet despite the holey leaves, it still produced a pretty decent head!
My husband roasted it last night with delicata squash and peppers — sooo good! 😋
Did you know cauliflower is not just delicious but super good for you?
✨ It’s rich in vitamin C
✨ Helps with digestion (thanks to all that fiber!)
✨ And it’s great for heart health and reducing inflammation!
Who knew this resilient veggie could be both tough in the garden and a total health powerhouse on the table? 💪

Our youngest can finally enjoy eggs—no allergic reactions, thank God! 🙌🐓 She loves them scrambled with Amish butter, and now she eats it daily. 🥚💛 Truly one of the sweetest blessings from raising our own chickens. ❤️

BIG news from the backyard! 🐔🌿🥚
I was out watering the garden this evening when I heard our hens making quite the ruckus. Thanks to the chicken mom groups, I’ve learned that when hens start shouting like that, it usually means one of two things: either something hurts... or they’re just very proud of laying an egg and want to brag to their hen friends. 😂
Curious, I wandered over to the coop to check the nesting boxes… and there it was — our very first egg!! 🥹

Picture me running from the backyard like a kid on Christmas morning, yelling to the girls, “There’s a surprise in the coop!” 😆They guessed it instantly and raced each other to see who could spot it first.

The giggles, the egg-citement — it was a moment we’ll never forget. 💛

And the sweetest part? Sarah, who’s usually sensitive to eggs, said she wants to try this one and see if it still bothers her. She loves our chickens so much — she checks on them multiple times a day, gives them treats, picks them up, and even takes them on tours around the garden… and sometimes inside the house! 😂🐔
