SarahCare at Encino Park

SarahCare at Encino Park Providing a safe and fun environment for adults with physical and/or cognitive decline as well as those wanting to build friendships.

SararhCare is a leader in the industry of adult day health services. As personal caregivers to our veteran family members, we chose to bring SarahCare to San Antonio, Texas to help other caregivers in our situation. We are opening this franchise to assist those in our community with the difficult decisions they make daily about loved ones that may be afflicted with Alzheimer's, dementia or Parkinsons, etc or just may not be able to be left alone. We are here to care for clients, provide warm meals, to interact with them socially, engage in activities and bring comfort to the caregivers during the day.

I'm all about sharing little things that can make a big difference in a caregiver's life.

🔴 Did you know that red plates can help people with Alzheimer’s eat more. Probably because it's easier them to see.

Think about it. White plate with chicken and rice on a light wooden table? Where does the table end and the plate begin? 🤷🏽‍♀️

To someone with Alzheimer's who's losing depth perception and contrast sensitivity... it all blends together. They get confused, they get frustrated, they eat less, they have less energy and it spirals from there.

Red plates and cups give them the contrast they need to see what they're eating which leads to being more independence, giving them more dignity and helping them to eat more.

Little things... BIG difference. 💙

EXCITING UPDATE: Congress has announced a bipartisan agreement to provide a $100 million increase for Alzheimer’s and dementia research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and $41.5 million for implementation of the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in fiscal year 2026.

When signed into law, it will bring total annual federal dementia research funding to $3.9 billion — accelerating progress against dementia for all communities nationwide. And funding for the BOLD program will strengthen our nation's public health response to dementia. These investments wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated advocates.

Next up, the agreement will go through both the House and Senate for approval. Tell your representatives to stand with the Alzheimer’s and dementia community today: bit.ly/42VytGH.

We have enjoyed the many faces who have entered our doors these past two weeks. This quote was from an email we received from one family looking for a place for their loved one to get out and socialize with others in safe and exciting venue. It really warmed our hearts to read it. We have worked hard to make our center a warm and inviting place for those wanting to meet and talk with others, provide safe care for those with cognitive issues as well as those needing supervision with medication or incontinence with our nursing staff. It is our way of allowing respite care for families and giving them piece of mind during the day. Come visit us at SarahCare at Encino Park for your tour and see what this family saw in us.
