GET👏DONOR👏MILK👏
an actual study, finally, that proves supplementation shortens the breastfeeding relationship.
Talk to an IBCLC!!!!!
Make sure you are supplementing appropriately.
Your pediatrician is NOT a specialist in infant feeding like an IBCLC is. Yes, they should OVERSEE baby's growth, but a lactation consultant has the tools to do a PROPER weighted feed and give correct calculations for breastfed babies.

I really really love what I do and the people I work with make it so fun!
" Jenica, hand me the b**b"
*Jenica sticking her chest in my direction*
"No, not *your b**b* my demo b**b!" 🤣

I love teaching about breastfeeding and all the benefits ! It's really probably my favorite part of what I do.

(Also, Fredericksburg fam, peep my Natural Mystics sticker that has lasted me almost 4 years and is just starting to peel)

"Midwives are the guardians of normal birth. They are experts at prenatal care and confidently work within the wide range that constitutes a normal, healthy pregnancy. Because they are so immersed in normal, childbearing, when something starts to look abnormal, it sticks out like a sore thumb"

These surges of intensity are your body's way of bringing your baby into the world. Knowing their rhythms, durations, and strengths empowers you during labor. From the gentle flutter of early contractions to the powerful waves of active labor, each sensation is a step closer to meeting your little one. Knowing what to look for as your labor progesses will help you be prepared and help you to know when to call your midwife or OB.

Wondering if your breastmilk is enough? Contains enough fat, etc? The answer is yes. Your milk contains prebiotics, antibodies, enzymes, and the perfect amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrates for growth and development.

The approximate composition of breast milk is 87% water, 7% lactose, 4% fat, and 1% protein. It also contains immune cells, stem cells, and specific antibodies to whatever your baby has been exposed to in the environment.

You do not need to eat a perfect diet to make perfect milk for your baby. DO aim to hydrate well and eat ENOUGH for good milk supply, and a variety of lactogenic foods like whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits and veggies, and fats. When we eat well, we feel better. This also helps our oxytocin level to rise, therefore helping make more milk!
