Loose Leaf Tea is taking North America by storm and is quickly rising in popularity. What is the difference between loose leaf tea and the bags you buy at the grocery store? The simple answer is QUALITY. Bagged tea is not referred to as a real tea in the industry, it is referred to as tea dust.
Bagged tea is made from the remnants left over after the higher quality loose leaf tea has been carefully selected from the barrel. It is dust at the bottom of the barrel. Bagged tea can consist of stems, wood particles, and even dirt—- EWWWWWWW. Loose leaf tea is the whole leaf of the plant and nothing else. A good comparison would be steak to a hot dog. Hot dogs are made from the remnants of what is left after the higher quality cuts have been made. If you are craving a juicy steak, you wouldn’t grab a hot dog and call it a day, would you? So why settle for tea dust when you are craving tea?
