Hey friends! 🌍🥗 March marks two wonderful awareness missions. National Nutrition Month and Women’s History Month! 🍎💚💃

This year’s National Nutrion theme, “Food Connects Us,” is a great reminder that nutrition is more than just what’s on our plates. It also reminds us about the communities we build, the choices we make, and how we fuel our bodies for a healthier life. 🏃‍♂️✨

It’s not a surprise to most of you that I, along with the Juice Plus+ Community I so dearly love, believe that whole-food nutrition is the secret to a stronger, healthier world. (Side note: Our fruit and veggie capsules and shakes help fill the gap between what we eat and what our bodies need—keeping us connected through good health.)🍏🥕

Another fun fact is that the JP+ Company, the Health & Nutrition Coaching, and Speech & Language Pathology (all of which are parts of my professional life) are predominantly women led industries…in the ballpark of 80% or more! 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

In honor of this month, I’ll also be bringing my Food Goddess accounts back to life to share vital (and fact-checked) nutrition education because we all can use a little more healthy in our lives. 🌱❤️

Let’s make this month all about health, connection, and better nutrition—together and celebrate the strong and inspiring women in our lives! 💚

I love that our company is always on the cutting edge of health. For 5 years now we have been offering our plant based Omega. There is more demand for sustainable omegas than ever. Keep the fish in the ocean. /EPA

19 Oct 2023 --- Omega-3s are being touted for their benefits, not only for heart health but also for cognition and immunity support. At the same time, innovations in sourcing, processing and scientific findings are driving the market.

Those of you who know me, know I’m not a fan of processed foods, plant-based alternatives or not, when it comes to health. Often the processed plant-based alternative can be (not great but) a “better than” approach. From the perspective of global environmental impact, however, it makes a positive difference. I will often tell clients to cut their meat (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and, yes, even fish) in half or fill your plate with plants and then add a serving of meat, no bigger than a deck of cards. This approach not only significantly benefits the environment, but benefits your health outcomes, too. 🌱❤️

Switching half of the world’s meat and dairy intake with plants would reduce greenhouse gas emissions and almost entirely halt deforestation, researchers say.

According to a comprehensive evaluation of randomized trials published since 1982, both vegan and vegetarian diets are associated with decreased cholesterol and fat levels in the bloodstream. This research, which was published in the European Heart Journal, indicates that plant-based diets can si

The key to healthy travel….I’ve spoken to several people traveling recently, some of them customers who swear by the benefits of whole food concentrates. It’s interesting how many of them choose to leave these behind in order to save room in their luggage. For me, these are essential to healthy travel. Menus, cultures, visiting other people’s homes being so many variables. The physical stress of travel also adds to that…flying, car travel, intense activity, different climates…You name it! For me, the heat and humidity in Italy has been quite a challenge! Staying committed and consistent to optimal nutrition is as important when I travel as in my daily routines, sometimes more so. Here are my top recommendations to feel good and maintain the best energy during travel:
✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Eat lots of plant foods - Try what’s local!
✅ Get plenty of rest
✅ Consume whole plant concentrates every day

Here’s to happy, healthy summers!! ☀️

Finding plant-based food can be challenging in northern France! Over the last week, I’ve had a delightful amount of fresh vegetables and beans! Challenging doesn’t mean impossible and takes just a little bit more effort. I’ve spent the day in Lille, which has been much easier and oh, so delicious!! 🥦🇫🇷🥖🌱❤️

We often underestimate the “nutrition” that friendships and social connection provides our overall health and wellness. Community and connectedness is a key component to the lifestyle of the Blue Zones. Stay tuned as I visit one of the most magical Blue Zones this summer! 🌱❤️

Research shows this is a mistake and in fact, counterproductive to maintaining your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Fantastic article written by Dr. David Katz, an esteemed epidemiologist from Yale University (he literally writes the text books) discussing the myths of protein that perseverate in (predominantly) Western cultures. A very good read, indeed! 🌱❤️

“Our obsolete-in-this-part-of-the-world definition of protein quality invites our society to persist in the misguided view that protein is synonymous with meat.”

In a recent interview I was pressed on the topic of protein for overall vitality, for peak physical performance, for satiety and weight control. When I answered regarding how protein quality is and should be defined, regarding the prevailing fallacies that more is better and that the best quality pr
