Congratulations to the most recent graduates of our Wilderness herbal first aid course, this one held in Redlands, CA.

We feel this is one of the most important courses we do because of the emphasis on emergency medicine skills that anyone can do with basic training.
The next WFA will be in Taos NM, May 1-3rd!

Tomorrow under the shade of this canopy, our clinical herbalist team will set up tables to serve the community of Redlands with a free herbal clinic.
We will convert an outdoor produce stand into a fully functional apothecary for making custom formulas and repurpose a covered garden shed for an herbal first aid station.

This is an example of community outreach that our school is known for, teaching students how to run clinics in any environment.

From the very beginning, our school has done herbal clinics alongside teaching, both in the US as well as several countries that wanted to learn about sustainable practices and herbal medicine. Next week our apothecary is packing up to host a 2-day free herbal clinic in the Redlands, CA area as well as teaching a Wilderness Herbal First Aid certification course.
Today our Lead Apothecarist helped pack up our clinical totes of about 100 single-herb extracts and roughly 35 formulas to work with a community that has need. Here are a couple of images from that process.

Thanks to the Urban Gardener for reviewing my second book (Survival Gardening) on his monthly book club. I had a great discussion with them on their livestream podcast. Due to technical glitches, I don't show up until about 48 minutes into the 2-hour discussion, but we talked about lots of great things related to growing food in situations where you have to survive off what you grow.

This supervised, hands-on experience offers the opportunity to serve an under-served community while gaining real-world clinical skills, client care experience, apothecary training, and documented clinical hours.

Proceeds from our Herbal First Aid Gear apothecary will be donated directly to support this community clinic.
