For more than 10 years, Juan Vasquez, Navy veteran, lived with kidney failure and the daily challenges of dialysis. Despite exhaustion and setbacks, he stayed active, hopeful, and focused on what mattered most.
In August 2023, Juan received a life changing kidney transplant at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant. Just months later, he returned to the golf course—a powerful reminder of how far he’d come.
Today, Juan is enjoying renewed freedom, energy, and time with his family (and five dachshunds). Reflecting on his journey, he encourages others to take their health seriously—even at a young age. Following medical guidance, staying active, and addressing health concerns early, he says, can make a life changing difference.
In honor of , we’re sharing Juan’s story to raise awareness, inspire hope, and celebrate the gift of organ donation. His journey is a reminder that life after transplant can be full, active, and meaningful. Read Juan’s kidney transplant journey here: https://bit.ly/4861eCQ.
