As we celebrate and , we remember that love comes in many forms — and for the Rodgers sisters, it came in the form of a lifesaving kidney donation.

Brynn was in high school when a rare autoimmune disease began to shut down her kidneys. A dedicated athlete, she pushed through practices and games even as her symptoms worsened. After months of treatments and nightly dialysis, she learned she needed a transplant. Her parents and her older sister, Madison, were all a match — but for Madison, saying yes to becoming her sister’s donor was automatic.

On June 6, 2025, Brynn underwent a kidney transplant at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant thanks to her own sister's willingness to be a . Today, both sisters are thriving and hope their journey inspires others to consider organ donation. Read their full story: https://bit.ly/469rawj.

Methodist Hospital | Stone Oak recently celebrated a remarkable milestone honoring Wade Adair’s retirement from the United States Air Force and his continued leadership as Vice President of Operations at the hospital.

Wade’s transition from military service to healthcare leadership was made possible through the Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program, a partnership between Methodist Healthcare and the DOD that connects transitioning service members with meaningful civilian career opportunities.

Surrounded by family, colleagues, and team members, Wade was honored for his decades of service, leadership, and dedication. The ceremony marked not only the close of an extraordinary military career, but the beginning of his next chapter with us. In a powerful and symbolic moment, the team had the honor of helping Wade remove his Air Force uniform and place on his hospital work jacket, representing the continuation of his service in a new mission.

His leadership, integrity, and mission-focused approach continue to make a positive impact on hospital operations, team members, and the community served by Methodist Hospital | Stone Oak. We are proud to recognize exceptional leaders like Wade Adair and celebrate the service he has given, and continues to give, in support of others.

Methodist Hospital Metropolitan recently completed its first-ever bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) procedure, expanding access to this advanced treatment option for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in our community.

BLVR is performed during a bronchoscopy and involves placing small one-way valves into targeted airways. For select patients with COPD and hyperinflated lungs, these valves help release trapped air, redirect airflow, and support better breathing.

The introduction of BLVR at Metropolitan reflects the collaboration and expertise of our teams and the continued growth of the hospital's lung program. We're proud to advance education, innovation, and specialized care, bringing more treatment options closer to home for the communities we serve! We recently celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of the Methodist Hospital Atascosa Student Center, a space designed to support students as they complete clinical and observation rotations in a high-quality learning environment.

Methodist Hospital | Atascosa is a nationally accredited hospital, earning Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for meeting rigorous standards of quality and safety. Students learn alongside teams who prioritize doing things the right way, reflected in a strong culture of safety, extraordinarily low infection rates, and consistently strong performance in time-sensitive care like sepsis and stroke.

This year, Methodist Hospital | Atascosa also earned its Pathway to Excellence® designation, recognizing a supportive nursing environment where collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth are central to the clinical experience.

The new Student Center complements that excellence by giving students a dedicated place to recharge, connect, and prepare for hands-on learning alongside our care teams!
