Smart Barre practices concentrated movements that function as deep sculpting tools to strengthen and lengthen muscles. As a total body workout, this class fuses principles of ballet, Pilates, and yoga to target body areas in which women struggle- the core, hips, thighs, seat and arms. A traditional ballet barre is used to help maintain balance and provide resistance, however, you will not need a tutu in this class to achieve the long, lean look of a dancer. In addition to the barre, light weights, a playground ball, and a cushy mat are used.

FORM FRIDAY ✨table to teaser ✨

This teaser series will allow you to focus on mastering leg and core control 🔥 This low impact core workout will concentrate on deepening abdominal engagement, especially the transverse abdominals.

To set up:
- Lie down on back and find a neutral spine position
- Ensure the natural curve of your spine is maintained from the start!
- Engage the core by drawing in the navel toward the spine
- Lift legs into a table top position, keeping knees bent at a 90 degree angle and directly above the hips
- Keep arms pressed into the mat
- Engage the inner thighs as you extend the legs into a teaser position

✅ Focus on slow, controlled movements without arching the back.
✅ Engage the deep abdominal muscles to support the legs as they move.
✅ Keep the neck relaxed and in line with the spine.
✅ The key is to focus on abdominal strength to lift the legs rather than relying on momentum or arching your back
✅ Use breathing to maintain stability throughout the exercise.

‼️ Modifications: If the full extension of the legs is too difficult, keep the knees bent or perform smaller movements.

✅ Keep the elbows soft

In addition to the barre, light weights, a playground ball, and a cushy mat are used. Our method is an efficient, upbeat workout that you will find a “Smart” use of time.

We also offer Smart Bounce. Smart Bounce is a fun and unique class that will take your barre workout to the next level. Performed on mini trampolines, this class not only incorporates elements from Pilates and barre to burn calories and sculpt long, lean muscles, but it is also detoxifying as we turn up the cardiovascular intensity. Choreographed and synced to upbeat music, this class is sure to burn tons of calories and leave you with wanting to Bounce with us again.
